Ringmistress Philomena Bindlestiff:

yo! big fangirl love to Howie Seligman, Rock n' Roll Accountant and number-cruncher to The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus!

depressed Persian cab driver:

I don't dare call. This Howie person is fascinating and my favorite perennial guest on your show.
Please just let him talk for the whole hour.
  6:33pm
Howie riddle me this:

No income in 2011. Had to withdraw $3,000 from the IRA (15% is supposed to go to the government). Will they track me down if I do not file?

traveler:

Tax Q! I'm an artist who travelled to Europe last year for art shows. The meals-and-entertainment allowance for Amsterdam is far more than I actually spent on meals and entertainment. Is it OK to take the full daily allowance anyway?
  6:45pm
married in brooklyn:

Hey guys, I got married in 2011. My wife and I always fill out the ez form. Should we file as married even though we haven't been married for the whole year, just part of it. If so is it better to file separately or together on one form.

Innocent:

Back in the day, I'd never heard of Ind Contractor status. In the last four years, much more so. The VISTA volunteers that did tax prep for me at Brooklyn College in 2008 and 2009 did not tell me I could document and deduct all my expenses against IC income, and I only was told about that in 2011. What is the outer deadline for filing an amended return to deduct expenses against Ind Contractor income for the year 2007? Or is it too late now anyhow? If it's not too late, how easy or hard is it to file an amended return for 1099 income?

Guy sounds like Barry Profit.

Thanks, Chris T and Howie S!

Innocent:

Thanks!

depressed Persian cab driver:

Brilliant stuff. Rather than delve into my personal issue concerning tips (I think they are mine and i earned them by not being a jerk,) to the thing Cris said at this show's start:
What if Ron Paul wins? He won't, as a Republican. But if anyone could excite us enough to abolish the IRS, as he says he would, what next?
  6:54pm
Jack:

Chris, this is a great service that you and Howie are providing. Thank you so much for doing this! We learn SO much from hearing Howie speak, he really simplifies a lot of this tax stuff. We look forward to hearing Howie next week.
Thanks again.

Howie:

Does great characters too!!!! Herman Cain was/is a tool and former Fed Governor.

Steve Carter:

I'm an extra player in movies and TV crap. Therefore there are many different employers on various days. We need to fill out that form Chris mentioned every day we work. It appeared in 2010. I have a carbon copy of one right here:
"Notice and Acknowledgment of Pay Rate and Payday Under Section 195.1 of the NYS Labor Law Notice for Hourly Rate Employees"
