Listener comments!

  9:08pm Martha:

If any of you are faithful listeners, you are likely aware of the Morton Feldman obsession which has taken me over these past 9-12 months. I thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy at least some of it!
  9:10pm Martha:

Also, trying a different show trajectory tonight...
  9:11pm bruceleh:

No apologies necessary, it's free form!
  9:11pm Richard from Venezuela:

Now problem. I'll enjoy the music travel.
Good evening Martha.
  9:15pm PB:

I'm always up for hearing music that I'm not familiar with.
  9:17pm Robyn:

What was the song about Jersey City and the old car? So good! Love your show, Martha!
  9:18pm blujacket:

love it.
  9:19pm Robyn:

Oh crap that was on Monica's show...sorry!
  9:21pm Martha:

Yeah - sorry - e-mail her through her show page - I'm sure she'll be happy to help you out -
  9:24pm Cacapulco:

MFin' MF.
  9:25pm dave:

wow, REALLY liking this roly porter thing. amazing stuff.
  9:26pm Dobbs:

Feldman is ALWAYS welcome in my ears.
  9:26pm Martha:

Evidently half of Vex'd, and if I was cooler I would know what that means -
  9:28pm dave:

yeah, i'm not cool enough to know what that means either, except that it means i should start looking for vex'd albums TOO.

this show will bankrupt me.
  9:30pm PB:

This was a Cramps original, right?
  9:31pm Martha:

Yep -
  9:32pm PB:

Great cover.
  9:34pm Martha:

Also, although we all appreciate MF greatly, it might not be so proper to deploy curse words around the legacy of a DEAD man (tho' perhaps i have just been reading too much Austen these days...) -
  9:37pm PB:

The last gasp of a once great band. 33 years ago!
  9:48pm Destroit:

Hello Martha,Richard, PB , and all the fine listeners.
  9:48pm Martha:

Yes - I love that record -I have a theory (not yet tested) that with every really good band, the first record of theirs you hear will always be your favorite - would have played some girls but that nasty FCC person is always looking over our (collective) shoulder -
  9:50pm Martha:

Hello all! and thanks for the good words! - upon reconsideration I would even agree that Morton F. was one serious Motherfucker -
  9:52pm Jack:

Wow thanks for introducing me to The Embarrassment! Sheesh made my night!
  9:53pm molerat:

(obligatory: "Shut yo' mouth!")

Enjoying the show, loved the MF track.
  9:53pm dave:

i dunno about that "first album you heard" theory. i first heard zen arcade a while after hearing most of the rest of the hüskers catalog and my head pretty much asploded.
  9:54pm Destroit:

Dirty. This Morly track is great.
  9:58pm Ron House:

Morley Grey was from Ohio! Thanks for playing them!
  10:01pm Destroit:

Nothing good happens in Ohio, except ron :;
  10:05pm Martha:

Yes! I mentioned they sounded Brit w/ the name but they were from Alliance, OH, no?
  10:06pm Martha:

Well, my Mom was born there...
  10:06pm PB:

@Dave, as great as Zen Arcade is I think I like Warehouse just a little more. The first Husker Du record I ever heard was Land Speed Record, which I thought was pretty much unlistenable.
  10:07pm Destroit:

i retract my Ohio statement. I just recalled good times in Toledo.
  10:10pm Martha:

Husker Du was a hard band to get into - as great as they were - it was always best to start at the end and work forwards -
  10:12pm Martha:

I mean I love them, but they were work - which is good -
  10:13pm PB:

They were work but it was well worth it.
  10:14pm Martha:

True -
  10:15pm dave:

them's fightin' words, pb. "giligan's island" is an ETERNAL CLASSIC. that's why kids sing it in kindergarten classes.

but yeah, i won't disagree that the huskers, particularly early on, don't exactly meet the listener halfway.
  10:18pm Destroit:

I never 'got' Husker Du. But it's been a decade or so since I've tried it. Got to get to work, so many people recommending it.
  10:20pm Betsy:

Sounds so good Martha! Loved the Orono, & this heavy breathing Destination Cervo's awesome toooooo.
  10:31pm Destroit:

Wow. You go wold.
  10:33pm jones:

Hi Martha, love yr show! from Michigan, where I first heard Rothko Chapel in ann arbor a long time ago. What'd ya think of it? I love M.F's choral works.
  10:39pm Brett:

Love what your playing!
  10:41pm Destroit:

Paralysing music, fantastic Martha!
