stereogab:

  7:21pm
Jeff:

Hurrah for Monica Time!

Damn, is it 7PM already? I'm still tipsy from stopping by Maxwell's ever so briefly to check in with good ol' Jones and little Kenny Green.

I blame it on quaffing a few refreshing water-glasses of Johnny Walker Black as part of my perpetual celebration of Christopher Hitchens's memory.
  7:23pm
frenchee:

Oh Jeff, hope you got some good snaps of the boys cavorting! <HIC>
  7:23pm

Hey Mo. Love the S. Jews! It was my Catholic friend that hipped me to 'em. Your former colleague keynoted at APAP. The whole World Beat theme reminded me of Jazzfest except with monsanto instead of hay at our feet.
  7:26pm
listener gary:

  7:27pm

  7:32pm
trrs:

she's a small woman in physical stature and an all around giant.
  7:34pm
Don (trip dub):

This is pure Grace. I can't get that image of Grace with the 45 record on her head at the Mike Douglas show outta my head. Often imitated but never duplicated.
  7:35pm
Jett Brando:

Dino and Frank's 'Marshmallow World'. Like two neighborhood bowery kids.
  7:46pm
texas scott:

this show is rockin'!

i've never even witnessed petty larceny.
i live such a sheltered life.
  7:47pm
cb1:

Tequila was the very first "jazz" dance I ever did on stage. I was 8. Somehow or other I was by a badly painted flat of the Paris - with the Eiffle tower in the background - leaning on a fake lightpost. I was wearing with turtleneck - and sequins, of course. Oh. And they wonder why I turned out like I did . . .
  7:49pm
cb1:

Oh, yes and a beret with more sequins.
  7:50pm
dianska:

great show Monica! Much better than the Steelers game currently on.
  7:51pm
monica:

Jett, aren't you going to be on Pseu' show? If so, spill the deets... Tony, damn straight... yo, dianska - but not as good as Downton Abbet:) thanks, lady!

  7:53pm
trrs:

'tequila manhattan on the rocks, please.'
  7:55pm

  8:19pm
miss cheri:

  8:20pm
glenn:

Bear of Ill Tidings:

tebow 80 yard pass, game over, sorry dude...
  8:23pm
Davice:

Ahhh, this is sweet music!
  8:24pm
Destroit:

They got Tebowed by an 80 yard bomb on the first play of OT.
  8:24pm
monica:

am loving the NFL commentary! so what does this game mean, haven't been following... more attuned to new ep of "the good wife" so i can get my christine baranski fix...
  8:25pm
PB:

Not exactlya "bomb". 15 yard catch and run.
  8:25pm
Windy City:

Great Sammy track thanks for playing it!!!
  8:25pm
Jeff:

Dig.
  8:27pm
Destroit:

Yes, PB, you are correct, 5 yards for improper bomb usage!
  8:27pm
Davice:

I dig the music; it's far out!
  8:27pm
yeah:

sammy was the best . but then so were alot of those folks .
  8:27pm
miss cheri:

mo--the reason i ask for van morrison is cause i love van morrison,,,
  8:28pm
G:

Tebow is the QB for Denver who tends to ostentatiously credit his good plays to God. So, many people are pro-Tebow rooters, and many are Tebow haters. A recent phase of the culture wars...

Tebow just won an overtime game on the very first play of an overtime playoff game. Fuel to the fire...
  8:28pm
Davice:

Tony Bennett is still kicking!
  8:28pm
PB:

@Destroit. prettty amaing no matter how you cut it. I'm becoming a "believer" (no, not that kind of "believer").
  8:29pm
monica:

Hola, Windy City? Is it windy now? Irwin played it a few weeks back and I fell over my ergonomically correct office chair.... Ditto, Jeff.
  8:29pm
Davice:

Monica, play something off of the new Tony Bennett CD????
  8:30pm
glenn:

i'm firmly in the hater camp.
  8:30pm
Mike Sin:

As usual, Monica is warming me up on this cold drive home.
  8:31pm
monica:

G - thanks! and oy...
  8:31pm
anne:

Chicago's been warmish, low to mid 40s. everybody's out n' about, shorts/tshirts running along the lake. waiting for the snow...i got me a brand new pair o' snow boots...
  8:32pm
PB:

I thought the Broncos would get shut out today. Shows you what I know. Hopefully, the Patriots will give them their comeuppance next week.
  8:33pm
miss cheri:

i'm really sorry to trouble you monica,,,g'night
  8:33pm
annie:

how many people did the "no pants" thing today??

  8:44pm
PB:

Boy, did we all watch some incredibly dumb TV in the 60s and 70s.
  8:44pm
G:

but it seemed so RACY after the 50s!
  8:45pm
miss cheri:

pb,,i disagree
  8:46pm
yeah:

all you need to know is that the giants won.
  8:46pm

PB:

Then again, the early 70s did give us All in the Family, still the greatest show of all time.
  8:51pm
glenn:

all t.v. in the 60's was shitty.
  8:53pm
yeah:

really g ?
  8:53pm
annie:

Smothers brothers. rocked!! OMG combat was our regular weekly thing.. loved that show. AITF ... i remember the kiss between whatsername and whatisname.. it was a shocker..
  8:53pm
frenchee:

Joe Carson sounds like my kinda guy
  8:54pm
glenn:

considering we didn't have a t.v. until 1968, and then all we got was cbc and french cbc. (radio canada).
  8:54pm
PB:

The Smothers brothers were very hip. Used to have great musical guests (Who, Jefferson Airplane, etc.)
  8:54pm
?:

one afternoon of local programming in the 60's or 70's was better than a season of anything that is on now .
  8:55pm
annie:

  8:56pm
PB:

Mod Squad
  8:57pm
trrs:

I like radio!
  8:57pm
Tom from Gravesend Bklyn !!:

now you have Reality shows ie... "American Idol " which is a show designed to just make already mean spirited teens , kids and even ADULTS ! into even more mean spirited Individuals !!! --- the idea of 60's 70's TV was to most of the time anyway -- get away from reality which is why it was great and entertaining and didn't rely on OHHH and AHHHs altogether when SEX was talked about !! ....
  8:57pm
trrs:

It's less demanding. Even with a comments board.
  8:58pm
yeah:

anyone remember biography ? hosted by mike wallace . i learned more history from that early sat/ morning show than i did in middle school.
  8:59pm

  9:01pm
louis:

Monty Python's Flying Circus first aired in 1969 and it is far from being shitty and The Andy Griffith Show is still one of the finest written and acted (Don Knotts).
