  7:58pm Richard from Venezuela:

Good evening Amanda.
  8:03pm Parq:

Miss A! I need music to cook by. I know I can count on you.
  8:04pm listener james from westwood:

ooh! what's on the menu for tonight, if i may pry?
  8:07pm Amanda:

Har har, LJFW! Hi Parq and Richard! We're cookin' now.
  8:13pm Caryn:

Great start to the show, Amanda! Alas, it is past 3 a.m. here, and I'm sick, so it's time I go to bed. Good night, all, and have a great show!
  8:15pm DP:

Damn Nice second fiddlin" Amanda!
  8:16pm Ben Drinken:

I have a bottle of cheap wine in my garage that I opened last night and didn't finish. The cork screw broke and I ended up having to do the strereotypical cheap thing and push the cork down into the bottle. I drank some of it last night but it is still out there in the garage. maybe I should go back out there tonght and drink some of it in honor of Mr. Finewine and Amanda on the air.
  8:17pm Amanda:

Feel better, Caryn! Thanks, DP...

BD, I endorse this behavior heartily.
  8:19pm Caryn:

Thanks, Amanda. I hope to feel better soon, since due to my illness I've been rendered deaf in one ear (been 10 days now) and it's cutting into my WFMU listening...
  8:25pm Ben Drinken:

When I went out to the garage I discovered two bottles of cheap wine. Both opened in the pushing the cork down into the bottle method. One was empty and the other between half and three quarter full, with the busted up cork floating around in it. apparently I drank the one bottle and started the other and did not remember. I must have had a time trying to snap off and push that cork down on that second bottle to get some drink if I don't remember it until now.
  8:26pm Mike Sin:

Nazz Scene with Down Soul -- Noice!
  8:35pm Skirkie:

Yo. Listenin from the Pocono Mountains of PA on my fancy WFMU app.
  8:39pm Amanda:

Hi Mike and Skirkie! I'm blushing, I'm so lucky to have both of you handsome gentlemen joining me!
  8:39pm Amanda:

(bet Fine Wine doesn't pour on the charm like that)
  8:40pm Ben Drinken:

this set is delicious. Just like that fine bottle of cheap wine I brought inside from the garage. It has been chilled just right out there. it is a fine bottle of cheap wine.
  8:45pm Amanda:

Cheap will do just fine, Ben. And if there's some left over tomorrow you can use it to cook with!
  8:47pm Mike Sin:

Aww... how sweet! Nobody calls me handsome unless they've... ben drinken!
  8:48pm Joe D.:

  8:49pm G:

  8:56pm Danne D:

Hi Amanda! Just wanted to check in. Been listening all the way on my trip home from work. It's always fun to hear you on the radio and you've done a great job filling in for Mr.Finewine tonight. Thanks for a great show :)
  8:59pm Ben Drinken:

thanks for the show Amanada. next up Pseu's show. Sometimes her show is too pop/sweet for me to stomach long.
  8:59pm G:

No, MK, but I lived in the UK 1971-74, and my sister lived there in 1998-2008.

In 1973, at the St Albans record store they asked if I was a was a 15yo DJ because I always special-ordered tons of US soul records that were barely getting released over there then. But I was just missing AM radio in my home town of Detroit...

Any comment reader here knows MK is in the UK :-)
  8:59pm Amanda:

<3 You guys! Thanks and see you next time.
  9:01pm listener james from westwood:

hoping this episode is part of the usual finewine podcast. if not, i'll grab it for a second spin from the archive. sweet show!
  9:01pm pgw in mntclr:

i forgot to listen!
  7:05am Brian in UK:

Some belting tunes, Amanda. Think you had to be over here in Wigan Casino to hear these sounds in the 70s.
