DK, there's an album of Stephen OMalley's part of the NAEVIL exhibit isn't there? Can you play a bit of it?
  12:38pm
andymorphic:

is this the "punk" song from wkrp?
  12:52pm
Nick S:

The Mudhoney song is a cover taken from an old SCTV episode. The "Queen Haters" were John Candy, Martin Short, Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin. They were the punkest band of all time.
  12:57pm
lil bob:

i love this Angst tune,
  12:58pm
andymorphic:

right....i knew it was something like that....now i can relax
  1:07pm
Cecile:

I was gonna ask he was an Aussie.
  1:13pm
Andrea on the M62:

Hi all. Nick S....I am intrigued about this SCTV episode...could you tell me more about this? Is it an American thing? (Im in the UK and not heard of it). Or can anyone help Please?! Thanking you in advance!
  1:16pm
Cecile:

it's a Canadian/American thing.
It was a 70s/80s show. They've all been collected at some point. Also, there may be YouTube clips, type in "SCTV."
  1:19pm
Andrea on the M62:

Thanks Cecile I will check it out.
  1:23pm
Nick S:

Didn't Steve Albini record this Burning Witch record?

i know a lot of people love sctv, but personally, i would rather chew my own burning hair than watch a minute of it.
  1:27pm
bill:

Nick: only some of the songs
  1:28pm
Dave B:

I think the Queen Haters could use a guitar lesson courtesy of Snuff Box

  1:30pm
jonathan:

sorry, khanate
  1:36pm
bill:

Me too, Khanate, I'm really, really sorry. Would you like a lemonade or something?
  1:39pm
Cheri Pi:

That was some seriously scary stuff, I'm going to hug my cat when I get home...
  1:41pm
glenn:

will you squeeze him and call him george, while you're at it?
  1:41pm
bill:

Yob of course is "boy" backwards
  1:43pm
Cheri Pi:

Um...no, his name is Big Jeff-Jeff.
  1:45pm
glenn:

Hugo the Abominable Snowman: [holding Daffy, whose shirt makes him look like a rabbit] Oh, what a cute little pink bunny rabbit!
[cradling Daffy]
Hugo the Abominable Snowman: Just what I always wanted. My own little bunny rabbit. I will name him George, and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him...
Daffy Duck: I'm not a bunny rabbit...
Hugo the Abominable Snowman: ...and pat him and pet him and...
Daffy Duck: You're hurting me. Put me down, please.
Hugo the Abominable Snowman: ...and rub him and caress him and...
Daffy Duck: [shouts] I ain't no bunny rabbit!
  1:47pm
George:

YEAHH BABBY!!! Good stuff today Diane.
  1:47pm
Cheri Pi:

haaahaahaahaa! And to think that Daffy may have been wearing a skin-coat.
  1:48pm
BSI:

i approve of this here sound thing.
  1:49pm
Nick S:

Yes! The Julian Cope Sunn0)))!!
  1:50pm
Amy:

I love this show.
  1:51pm
Cheri Pi:

Sunn show was weird. I didn't know what to do w/my hands the whole time. next time I'll bring some knitting.
  1:52pm
bill:

Did they just name check themselves?
  1:54pm
Cheri Pi:

This is their theme song, they're like the Monkees.
  1:54pm
Cecile:

I left early, I was falling asleep, Cheri. They played for 2 hours longer - just the same two notes.

Aw, man. Comedian Patrice O'Neal just passed away because of diabetes complications.
  1:56pm
Cheri Pi:

I left early too. My friend termed the coin "Dunn o))) for that feeling at a Sunn show. But next time I'll bring my cat George. I bet one could pet a cat for 2 hours to this.
  1:56pm
Cheri Pi:

RIP Patrice. :(
  1:56pm
Nick S:

Why on earth did you guys go to that show? Did you not know what you were in for?
  1:57pm
Jett Brando:

Sick playlist. It's made it much easier to stomach the grading of high school freshmen writing assignments. Thanks!
  1:57pm
Cheri Pi:

I wanted to feel the bass in my face.
  1:58pm
Cecile:

Nick, I did not know. I knew it was going to be slow, but not that slow.
  1:58pm
Cecile:

I also wanted to see Boris very badly. They opened.
  1:59pm
Cecile:

they were great.
  1:59pm
Nick S:

Sometimes I feel fine leaving a show early even if it's a band I love. I left two different Minutemen shows early.
  2:03pm
punkdom:

Rock on Diane. NH REPRESENT!!!
  2:04pm
punkdom:

Leaving shows early before they end, especially if you like the band is lame.
  2:06pm
Cheri Pi:

No it's not.
  2:07pm
Cecile:

Sometimes you are falling asleep standing up. Then it's time to leave.
  2:08pm
Nick S:

My personal rule is if I feel like leaving, I leave. MY RULES.
  2:09pm
Cheri Pi:

If you're sated you should leave. the band doesn't take it personally.
  2:13pm
Cecile:

Seldon, did you ever see fEEDTIME play?
  2:13pm
bill:

I once left a Mogwai show that had gotten too boring to bear and learned later that Robin Proper-Shepard (opener) joined them for a skree filled pounding finale. I've stuck it out ever since
  2:17pm
Cecile:

I'm getting confused with the French band....Heldon...

oh...Hell Din. ahahaha
  2:20pm
Cecile:

she has a really cool voice. Bluesy.
  2:24pm
BSI:

I did a neck-cracking double-take at "heldon" as well.... still, it's all goot!
  2:33pm
Cheri Pi:

True Power Metal, the brisk refreshing alternative.
  2:34pm
Cecile:

mhahahahahahahaha
  2:35pm
Cheri Pi:

& Just when the world needs it the most ;)
  2:38pm
Cecile:

Hard-ons! Awesome.
  2:38pm
punkdom:

I know htey are not death metal, but does he have an opinion on the austrailan band called The Hard-ons?
  2:41pm
Cecile:

that's still the dream...album covers.
  2:42pm
punkdom:

If you are tired at the show then you didn't prepare properly. Once you leave you never know what you are going to miss. You should stand in front and get sweated on until the end!!!
  2:47pm
Cecile:

I have leg problems and work full-time. I leave when I want. It's better than not going.
  2:49pm
punkdom:

Definitely better than not going at all.
  2:59pm
Cheri Pi:

I'm getting this whitehorse record, it was reissued recently on vinyl on At A Loss.
  2:59pm
chris:

Freakin' awesome show, Diane! Thank you!
  3:00pm
bill:
