  3:13am Looms:

Hello there!
Regular coffee and muffins
  3:13am Andrew:

Hi Bill! Good start to the show ^_^
  3:18am Andrew:

Hi Looms! ^_^
I haven't heard much of Can, this is good!
  3:22am bill mac:

Hey boys.... how are we doing today?
  3:22am abby:

hello andrew, looms, bill mac. just coffee.
  3:25am bill mac:

Hey Abby.... coffee would be nice right about now....
  3:26am Andrew:

hi abby.
I have only heard the one Vanilla fudge song, it's a cover of some song (I forget what) this is good.
  3:27am bill mac:

Wasn't it "Keep Me hanging On" by the Supremes?
  3:29am Andrew:

I think so, with really slow vocals
  3:32am bill mac:

Yeah, I vaguely remember that myself
  3:33am Looms:

Back to Can, they did good but also boring things. Really not my fave in german krautrock.
Bill, I have a word for you: thermos flask (best way to have good and fresh coffee)
  3:33am Andrew:

hehe, I've heard of the Strawberry Alarm Clock,
so there's a Chocolate Watchband?
Oh, and Vanilla Fudge, nicely done there ^_^
  3:36am bill mac:

You beat me to it Andrew....
  3:36am abby:

and there you go!
  3:37am bill mac:

Thanks Looms! I have one and I'll be using it next week.... Can's a mixed bag but I've come to appreciate their older stuff a whole lot
  3:44am Andrew:

ah, that's the song they did, I was trying to think of it. Reminds me of the Simpsons.
  3:50am Looms:

Code III were German; the track you played was awesome (a bit scary by moments).
  3:52am bill mac:

Thanks Looms..... there's a reason I thought they were French but it escapes me right now
  3:54am Jay/ London:

morning bill just checking in
  3:54am Andrew:

I love this song! Not heard of Dave Cloud before...
I love the vocals

Hi Jay
  3:55am bill mac:

Howdy Jay!
  3:56am bill mac:

He's been all the rage here over the last couple months...
  3:57am Looms:

Thx for the Dave Cloud :)
  3:59am bill mac:

I didn't want to speak out of turn, but didn't you just purchase his latest? We're gonna hafta get into a few of his other releases. I never checked the vaults for other stuff
  4:01am Jay/ London:

i had a late night on lots of coffee music just right :)
  4:02am Looms:

Bill: yes I did, very funny stuff. Looking forward to hear more and to catch him on stage.
  4:04am Looms:

Ah jeez!!! Where's my English this morning? "to hearing more and catching..."
  4:04am Stanley:

Morning Bill, morning everyone. See you played Theme One by VDG. We used this for our souncheck at the Scout Hut Disco when I was a kid. Or was it Tonto's Expanding Head band....can't remember
  4:08am Andrew:

Hi Stanley, you've missed some good tracks!

This Weekend track is good, love the effects
  4:10am bill mac:

You know what they say Stanley, if you can't remember then you must have been there
  4:19am Jay/ London:

consider drowning sounds a bit like the cramps me thinks
  4:19am Looms:

  4:21am Brian in UK:

Mornin' Bill & folks, sunny autumn day here leaves turning golden. I'm off to see Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares ce soir.
  4:21am Jay/ London:

  4:23am Jay/ London:

@ brian in uk whats that and where is it on ect
  4:25am Looms:

Ah, yes! Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares are impressive! Lucky you!
  4:27am Andrew:

It's getting cold here. It's been yoyoing between warm & cold for the last week. Typical victorian weather.
Hi Brian
  4:27am Looms:

btw, loved Sona Jobarteh, thanks for the recommendation, Brian.
  4:27am Brian in UK:

Jay at the Barbican.
  4:29am bill mac:

Saw them a few years ago when they came to the states.... beautiful stuff...
  4:30am bill mac:

Blasted Canyon info http://www.castlefacerecords.com/
  4:30am Thumbs Up:

Oh yeah!
  4:31am T-Zero:

[stretch, yawn, big coffee slurp] Morning everyone. Looks like I've been missing a good show. Looking at the list there's only two groups I recognise.
  4:32am Brian in UK:

Looms, do not know of any other women kora players.
Andrew 'victorian weather'? Australia, I presume. Not 19th century!!! Like the idea though.
  4:32am Jay/ London:

@ brian in U.K, i will see if i can still get tickets as i have no real plans for today
  4:33am Jay/ London:

Morning z-zero how's the teeth ?
  4:34am bill mac:

Teeth? Why wasn't I told?
  4:35am T-Zero:

Hi, Jay. Tooth's still bothering me, but not as bad.
  4:36am Andrew:

Wow, this is pretty fast for a Wilco track? I've only heard some of their stuff & the stuff they did with Billy Bragg. It's good!

hi T-Zero

yeh, Australia ^_^
  4:36am T-Zero:

Complicated, Bill. See Mary Wing's playlist comments for last Sunday.
  4:37am Brian in UK:

Martin Newell?
  4:38am T-Zero:

Evening, Andrew. Slow waking up this morning.
  4:39am Jay/ London:

like this armistice day
  4:39am bill mac:

Very good... Cleaners from Venus actually
  4:39am Brian in UK:

Nice one, Bill.
  4:40am bill mac:

Awesome stuff...
  4:41am Stanley:

Nice one Bill. The Mysterious Voices themselves. They were the first 'World Music' album I bought in about '84 I think
  4:41am Brian in UK:

Stanley, black cover?
  4:43am Brian in UK:

If you want an example of FREEFORM that last set is perfect.
  4:44am Andrew:

Great I came back in just as the Le Mystere started, that was awesome! (had to take stuff in that was outside)
  4:45am Stanley:

Brian, I think so, also got into Marta Sebastien and Muzikas at the same time. Wonderful stuff
  4:51am Jeff (jbm) M:

I can hardly get enough of that organ magic - reminds me of when cocktail bars were cocktail bars, with big vinyl booths and an organist. And the organ did a light show.
  4:51am bill mac:

Thanks Brian.... thanks for the inspiration for that last track
  4:53am bill mac:

Wow Jeff I'm jealous.... those were the days
  4:55am Andrew:

wow, this is a cool version of Fever.
also, thanks for the Le Mystere, i'd never heard of them before.
  4:55am Jay/ London:

good fast version of fever
  4:57am Jeff (jbm) M:

I was a kid, but I still thought it was way cool.
  4:57am bill mac:

Andrew, all I can say is that they're the best choral group you'll ever hear.... a nice combination of Middle Eastern and European flavors
  5:00am bill mac:

I wish I was that observant as a kid
  5:00am NY expat:

I love this Bob track, very Devo! Where are they from?
  5:02am Andrew:

Hi Jeff & NY expat.
That Bob was quite a different track from earlier stuff.
  5:03am Andrew:

we had Skylab bits crash into the desert here way back when.
  5:05am bill mac:

What desert Andrew?
  5:08am abby:

bill, it says it's landed already, but they don't know where yet.
  5:08am T-Zero:

I don't remember that, Andrew, But I recall the Japanese Hayabusa probe coming down in the outback.
  5:09am Andrew:

Esperance, Western Australia, 1979
This song sounds familiar
  5:10am bill mac:

It finally landed? Good! I actually found myself thinking of places to hide.
  5:13am Brian in UK:

Another good thing to come out of Bulgaria is sirene cheese. Better that Feta.
  5:16am T-Zero:

Gives a whole new meaning to duck and cover, eh, Bill?
  5:18am bill mac:

Really! Isn't there enough stuff up there to fall on me?
  5:19am abby:

oh sorry, yeah, there's more, it's just the big one that fell down already!
  5:20am Andrew:

Wow...this is a different kind of version of Highway To Hell O_o
  5:20am Looms:

Haha! This is great!
  5:21am bill mac:

Gotta keep you guys on yr toes..... this is a German artist, so I'm wondering how he's doing with the lyrics....
  5:23am T-Zero:

Didn't Nick Cave do a version of that song as well? (Highway to Hell)
  5:24am bill mac:

Did he? I'd like to hear it!
  5:27am Stanley:

Bill, now you are just getting carried away
  5:27am hamburger:

mornin' / better late than never
  5:28am Andrew:

Weird song this one, started to sound a bit like another song, oh A Little Less Conversation by Elvis

i looked up that Mambo Kurt guy & there's a youtube clip, but it sounded like he was playing a mobile phone ringtone.
  5:28am bill mac:

  5:29am Stanley:

Information highway to hell, perhaps?
  5:29am bill mac:

Mambo Kurt! Something else I need to see!
  5:31am bill mac:

Anyone have any idea on where to find Le Mystere's tour itinerary?
  5:31am T-Zero:

Bill, I was wrong. I was thinking of Chris Rea's The Road to Hell
  5:32am Marmalade Kitty:

Good morning Bill!
  5:32am bill mac:

Hey Kitty Happy Saturday!
  5:32am Andrew:

this is the Mambo Kurt clip:

Hi hamburger & Marmalade Kitty!
  5:33am Stanley:

Got this form the handout at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh www. serious.org.uk/mystere but will probably be only the UK dates. might have a link
  5:37am Brian in UK:

Looks like its just UK right now.
  5:38am NY expat:

Where can I find more Bob? there's only a couple tracks on youtube...
Also, is that band related to the cult of BOB? Anyone remember that? Fun stuff.
  5:40am Andrew:

Ah, I like him, I have the album with Jade in the title on vinyl.
  5:41am Andrew:

this one
  5:53am Andrew:

I like these last 3 songs ^_^
I've got Wynonie Harris on a compilation series called Blowing The Fuse
  5:53am bill mac:

I never heard him sing before..... wow indeedy!
  5:55am Brian in UK:

She just demands to be heard.
  5:56am Marmalade Kitty:

Looms, how was the john Cale concert? meant to ask :)
  5:56am Andrew:

I like Sarah Vaughan, such a nice voice & music.
  5:58am Andrew:

This is an odd one, sounds kind of 50s, but that screamy female vocal doesn't sound 50s
  5:59am bill mac:

Yes folks it's time to go.... Great fun as usual.... Next weeek!!!
  5:59am Brian in UK:

Great ending, Bill. Very Monica.
  5:59am Looms:

Hello Kitty! The Cale gig is on october 12th.
  6:00am Looms:

Thx Bill, have a great weekend y'all!
  6:01am T-Zero:

@Andrew: I really like Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone a lot. When I lived in San Diego I was able to hear Vaughan perform in the mid/late 70s.
  6:01am Andrew:

Thanks Bill & all! Cya next week!
  6:01am T-Zero:

Take care, Bill. Sorry I missed the first half.
