Ballaké Sissoko & Vincent Ségal Live +
other Cross-Cultural Collaborations

Hear this show now: | Add or read comments

Over the years there have been many collaborations and crossover projects involving the entrancing 21-string West African harp-lute, the kora - but few if any have achieved the extraodinary symbiosis of French cellist extraordinaire Vincent Ségal and Malian kora virtuoso Ballaké Sissoko. The duo has released a beautiful cd, Chamber Music, and wowed a packed room at last January's Globalfest showcase in NY. They return for a highly anticipated North American Tour this month, including a big NY show at CUNY's Elebash Recital Hall, 365 5th Ave on Tuesday September 27. We're honored to meet Ballaké Sissoko and Vincent Ségal in person for an interview and performance on today's show.
