Day off, slept in, coffee's done, Irene's show is on -- hello to all!
  12:11pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

sounds like you're set, Parq
  12:21pm Hugh:

Hi Irene. fellow listeners,
How was Newport? You had some great close-ups of the stages. Wish I coulda been there. Watched on-line all day, yesterday. Looked like a perfect day..
  12:21pm Marco Berzovini (Milan, Italy):

I found, searching and searching, this app for iPhone...Wonderful! Wonderful radio, wonderful app, wonderful city...without words...
  12:32pm Eric:

Carolina Chocolate drops
  12:35pm Looms:

Hello Irene and all!
It was pretty hard to be back at work after summer holidays, need some cooling...
  12:41pm still b/p:

Dan Hicks is good summer music.
  12:50pm Sean Gostage:

Dan Hicks, first time I have heard his music, just wonderful, off to Amazon to see if the album is available
  12:53pm zoot:

Sean, Be sure to check out Last Train to Hicksville, one of my fave rave Dan Hicks albums.
  1:05pm mike tp:

i likes what i see . like what i hear.great show irene. hello listeners. peace from the goombah of soul
  1:05pm King penguin:

Dont think i'd ever to multiple stage event again. Went to Fleadh to see Frances Black and the Saw Doctors. They came on at exact same time.
  1:06pm mike tp:

hey king that eats weeny
  1:09pm Irene:

Hey Sean, My fave album by Dan Hicks is Striking it Rich.
  1:11pm rst-awhile:

hm! Sounds ornate.
  1:31pm still b/p:

Didn't' realize that How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away dates back to '69. That song and I Scare Myself were my intro to DH and His Hot Licks in the mid 70s when they got a good amount of play on an FM station.
  1:39pm Van:

From the all-knowing Wiki: "The three members of the group are Molly Erin Sarle, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Amelia Randall Meath"
  1:40pm Peter K.:

Well, you ARE crazy. That's one of the many reasons I love you. P.S.: Mountain Man is Molly Erin Sarle, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Amelia Randall Meath.
  1:44pm Van:

That was interesting, thanks Irene. I see the Roches comparison...and that album's sound was pretty good for having been recorded in an abandoned factory
  1:44pm Irene:

Thanks for the info Peter! You're my Wealth of Information and Love always!
  1:46pm Peter K.:

Yeah, but listener Van beat me to it!
  1:47pm Van:

lol, it was more of a dead heat in the copy/paste-from-wiki contest ;)
  1:51pm Peter K.:

Actually, I cut and pasted from the group's own site. And I needed extra time to tell Irene that I love her, even though I think she already knew.
  1:57pm Van:

Ah right Peter K! I clicked through to their website and saw that Mountain Man just ended a US tour yesterday I guess!
  1:59pm Peter K.:

Yup, they said from the stage that Newport was the last stop on their tour. But I have no doubt they'll be on the road again, many times.
  2:01pm Irene:

You can be sure that if they were available to perform on this program I would jump at the chance. They were sublime!
  2:03pm Looms:

O Brothers, what a nice movie!
  2:04pm Van:

Well, one thing I love about WFMU as a newbie listener is being introduced to so many artists I never knew about and really like! This is a constant occurrence on nearly every show I drop in on :)
  2:16pm mike in sf:

Ludicra just broke up :(
  2:28pm Marmalade kitty:

Hi Irene, everyone!
we got some nice warm weather in uk :)
  2:31pm still b/p:

I don't know if the arrangement needed to be so similar for this cover.
  2:32pm ~L:

Love this "you know I'm no good", it was the theme song to Billie Piper's show Secret diaries!
  2:34pm other david:

lovely show irene
  2:40pm Marmalade kitty:

I fell over once as a child, thinking i had cut my arm, I burst into tears! My mum picked me up and wiped what seemed to be blood off my arm, but it turned out to be tomato ketchup! I'd slipped and my arm had landed in ketchup on the ground :)
  2:43pm fred:

kitty, that reminds me of when I once made a girl cry in kindergarten. we were all doing papercrafting and I peeled off that dried glue from her finger... she thought I was peeling off her skin and ran to the teacher.
  2:43pm T-Zero:

Nice track by Lauderdale
  2:49pm other david:

Sharon Van Etten <3

  2:50pm v k:
