Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

That's it for another episode of The Dusty Show. It was a strange one in that my dual-cassette deck broke early in the production-phase, and I had to do the show ... digitally. Yikes. So I did it on my laptop and incorporated some analog elements and ended up having fun with it. The background music (where not indicated) was stuff I created in Garageband. I have my repairman, Mark Slaughter, on the case, trying to whip together a functioning dual-cassette for us, but it will be another digital week ahead. I'll also be filling in for Fabio on THURSDAY, JULY 28th from 3-6pm. Followed by Dusty. Looking forward to it.

Summer is flying by so fast, it's unreal. I'm having a good one and I hope you can say the same. Drop me an email sometime and let me know what city you are from and what's on your mind. Always good to hear from the Dusty Family.

Until next time everyone, take care and ...

Always remember.

  6:14pm Clay:

I think we're off the air.
  6:14pm phillip:

  6:15pm Ike:

Still streaming.
  6:15pm phillip:

  6:15pm dale:

  6:16pm Clay:

THanks Philip, me too. Fabio hated it.
  6:16pm moose:

have you ever come across a listener on your taping events?
i'm a union square semi-regular and think it would be so odd if i were approached
  6:16pm Matt from Springfield:

  6:16pm phillip:

Which song was that. I bought a huge collection of over 500 Hi NRG and disco records from a gay nightclub DJ and i definitely have about 8 Lime records
  6:17pm geese:

nazi german pope--what's not to fear?
  6:17pm dale:

kyle is catholic and ii'm atheist. kinda makes for some issues now and then.
  6:18pm Clay:

Had to do this show digitally as opposed to my usual tape manipulation. It was fun, but limiting.
  6:18pm Cecile:

Wow, phillip, you are collecting the stuff
  6:18pm Clay:

Hi Dale! Hi Mosse! Maybe I'll run into you one day.
  6:19pm phillip:

well, yes. Mid-century modern, antiques, movie posters, records, boom boxes, 50s glassware, vintage radios and electronics. The list goes on
  6:19pm Matt from Springfield:

Hi caller Dale! And life partner Kyle!
Have you commented here before? Glad to have you join us!
  6:20pm Ike:

Was it faster? Or slower because of the learning curve for digital?
  6:21pm mosse:

it sounds a little crispy fancy, dunnit?
  6:21pm Clay:

Cecile. Hi.
  6:22pm phillip:

I grew up on antique stores, flea markets, thrift stores, junk shops, garage , and yard sales. It just stuck with me Cecile
  6:22pm Cecile:

hey, clay!
  6:22pm Clay:

Harder, Ike. But a good learning experience.
  6:23pm dale:

clay, you and milady are always welcome in the hudson valley.
matt, kyle called in last week and sang her punk hit 'oprah winfrey'
  6:24pm geese:

i can only just be arsed ---but this -- etc. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=christianity+exposed&aq=1&oq=christianity+
  6:24pm Clay:

It does Mosse. I tried to create GArageband songs and they're super cheezy.
  6:24pm phillip:

That was a great show last week
  6:25pm Matt from Springfield:

@dale: Ah, that's it--got the names mixed up!
  6:25pm Clay:

  6:26pm Marmalade kitty:

  6:28pm Clay:

  6:28pm phillip:

  6:28pm Clay:

It's good to see y'all. We are about to go live here now.
  6:28pm Matt from Springfield:

Whoa! 4 hours of Clay! Tons of music, tons of calls?
  6:29pm dale:

i found a copy of bob seger's 'noah' last week, but it looked like someone ice skated on it. sad, but maybe not.
  6:31pm Carmichael:

Hi Clay. Gotta run. Remember, no smoking .... no smoking ...
  6:31pm E Double:

pronounced Wuh ster
  6:31pm geese:

i think its time to stop humouring christians--perry and all that praying for the economy to heal etc----i think a zero tolerance on christianity policy amongst people with brains is due--right now
  6:31pm moose:

  6:31pm phillip:

that stinks when that happens Dale
  6:31pm Meridale Music:

Did you get the Wait That Beans music I emailed you?
  6:31pm Matt from Springfield:

Orpheus - dreamy 70s indeed!
  6:31pm Worcestor:

  6:31pm E Double:

Wuh Like woof. wuh Stah
  6:32pm E Double:

Fabio is a bit of a douche. This is undeniable.
  6:32pm dale:

has julie found a feller yet?
  6:33pm Matt from Springfield:

@geese: How about a tolerance policy amongst those who have zero tolerance, right now?
  6:33pm dale:

i thought that was the lettermen.
  6:34pm Adam in Portland:

Jennifer Herrema has sexy too-long bangs.
  6:34pm E Double:

Don't do drugs, kids.
  6:34pm Marmalade kitty:

Hi julie, Fabio.. :)
  6:34pm geese:

yes--but times up for christianity--its time for anyone with a brain to stop humouring them---simple
  6:34pm Fabio:

Hey kitty
  6:35pm Matt from Springfield:

Hi Marmalade Kitty!

Check this out, and type in 3. It's worth it :)
  6:36pm Matt from Springfield:

My Dad said every high school band in his day tried to play "The Horse". And "Louie Louie" is also a popular choice, according to Julie.
  6:36pm phillip:

damn this is funny
  6:37pm phillip:

Any barbershop quartet records up next Clay?
  6:37pm Adam in Portland:

Clay, ask Fabio about his time crawling about under the piers.
  6:38pm dale:

i have the usc trojan marching band a;bum. they do 'the bitch is back'
  6:38pm Marmalade kitty:

Hiya Matt, The golden age of tv in the 80's!

What do you mean press 3?
  6:38pm Clay:

God no, Phil
  6:38pm E Double:

Tribute to Troy is off the hook
  6:40pm Matt from Springfield:

@MK: I just learned this trick a couple months ago for YouTube: pressing the numbers 1-9 will take you to the 10%-90% point in the video.

So press 3, or else, just go to the 0:47 mark ;)
  6:40pm Coach from EVR:

Fabio.. the folks from the Electric Eclectics were on my show when you walked by last week.. good to meet you. Have fun up there
  6:40pm Bill:

Fabio, please you ain't from Brooklyn, son. You live in Brooklyn NOW, maybe. But don't get it twisted.
  6:40pm moose:

the worst thing is that kokopelli
  6:40pm Marmalade kitty:

seriously you know me, Matt, I love looking at old ads!

  6:42pm Adam in Portland:

Matt, you are a fount. Thank you!
  6:42pm Ike:

I can't stand Kubrick (except Dr. Strangelove which is awesome). Ugh. He hates his own characters.
  6:42pm phillip:

That penis has to be worth some good money
  6:42pm Marmalade kitty:

awwww :) haha
  6:43pm E Double:

The Shining is a quality film.
  6:43pm Matt from Springfield:

@MK: :)
Oh I know, as do I! Which is why it is so funny--I just found this randomly while looking a bunch of old vids!
  6:43pm dale:

everyone needs to see 'the loved one' by tony richardson.
  6:43pm Adam in Portland:

I think Barry Lyndon was shot masterfully.
  6:44pm Matt from Springfield:

@Adam: No prob! I started to wonder why people were posting comments saying to press a certain number--usually it cuts right into a funny line or puts something out of context!
  6:44pm E Double:

Barry Lyndon didn't get shot, he took over for the dude who was shot.
  6:44pm Clay:

Loved One Is GREAT! Liberace. Robert Morse,
  6:45pm Adam in Portland:

E Double: you ol' card. ;-)
  6:45pm Matt from Springfield:

Nick Gilder--like the 70s joke about pubescent girls, into pubescent guys who look and sound like pubescent girls! Later revived with the coming of "Hanson"...
  6:46pm E Double:

Oh Adam, I like the cut of your jib.
  6:46pm Matt from Springfield:

Whoa--except Nick was 27 when he was topping the charts!!
  6:46pm david:

great find.
  6:46pm dale:

AND paul williams
  6:47pm E Double:

  6:47pm Eddy Money:

  6:47pm david:

lewis furey?
  6:47pm david:

oh wait... he's canadian...
  6:48pm E Double:

It's not a smoke phone, it's a water pipe.
  6:48pm E Double:

Clay buck up son. Brush yourself off, and get back on the horse. THE CALLS WILL COME.
  6:49pm dale:

  6:49pm Adam in Portland:

Jimmy Scott was a beaut-i-ful lady.
  6:49pm Ike:

Yeah the calls will come for sure! Especially if you don't play any more of this music to scare them away :) ;) :P
  6:49pm E Double:

Reggie Noble?
  6:49pm J J:

Gilder wrote the song The Warrior by Scandal. That song is rad.
  6:50pm phillip:

Fabio will snap at me if i call
  6:50pm moose:

i'd be more willing to call if shows weren't archived for all e t e r n i t y
  6:50pm E Double:

Yeah Phil, Mr. High and Mighty-I-know-about-more-music-and-movies-than-you-do.
  6:51pm E Double:

Fuck eternity Moose.
  6:51pm phillip:

I remember in Faces of Death they show the man on PCP
  6:51pm in the can:

Bauhaus, She In's Parties
  6:51pm Matt from Springfield:

@Fabio: Libel! James Brown clearly said he was "high on God"--after ransacking his own office, leading cops through a car chase and going to jail for awhile. "God", is that what they're calling it now? :D
  6:52pm E Double:

You think some dude in 2134 will be sitting in his Biosphere, taking a moment from running from zombies to listen to the archive and be like "That dude moose is an idiot."
  6:52pm geese:

god small g--try it
  6:52pm phillip:

yes E Double, he is a crank at times
  6:53pm E Double:

Please do not denigrate the name of the Great One. Mr. Dynamite.
  6:54pm phillip:

No Popeye music this week?
  6:54pm geese:

a god

or no god

or some gods etc etc
  6:55pm dale:

get in there moose! twenty years from now you can log on and hear what you sounded like as a youngster
  6:55pm E Double:

Let's just calm down, smoke some PCP, scratch the imaginary worms off the surface of our skin.
  6:55pm Matt from Springfield:

Eternity is so much bigger than anyone, time and the universe are so much bigger than you anyway, a single call on Clay's Archive won't ultimately affect you either way. You're here NOW, and if you want to call, CALL! If you want to be free be free...
  6:55pm phillip:

great description
  6:55pm Adam in Portland:

  6:56pm phillip:

ok now you have to play some barbershop quartet music
  6:56pm Marmalade kitty:

clay take some asprin! don't want you having a stroke! :)
  6:56pm Meridale Music:

a fabulous selection of the suckiest music around!
  6:56pm E Double:

Yeah Matt, like live in the moment, man.
  6:56pm david:

all to the center with a great big shout?
  6:57pm dale:

i like when bugs bunny called the square dance. 'pull his beard, throw him off a cliff...'
  6:57pm Adam in Portland:

@E Double: do I look phat in this hull?
  6:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Thanks E Double! I once made a call to Scharpling that wasn't too thought out, but that's just how it went. And I'll call again when I feel so inclined--don't fear the judgment of time!
  6:58pm Seminal:

  6:58pm E Double:

Stop being a spectator and dance with man. Feel the joy! Embrace life! Embrace the moment! Don't think don't question! Back me up on this Matt from Springfield.
  6:58pm Meridale Music:

the only squaredance I can stand:

  6:59pm E Double:

@Adam...mad stupid phat.
  6:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Neil Young!
  6:59pm dave:

I didn't know before this afternoon that Pennsylvania issues special Square Dancer license plates for that demographic.
  7:00pm Matt from Springfield:

Hope @6:58 backs you up E Double!

And this was a good show Clay!
Good night Clay, Fab, Julie, everyone!
  7:00pm E Double:

That's great dave, where shall we send the certificate?
  7:00pm Marmalade kitty:

It's midnight uk! Great show you guys!
  7:09pm ICP:

How do magnets work?
  7:24pm david:
