You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Good evening Dan B.
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:21pm Dan B:

Hi Richard, how's it going?
Mon. 6/27/11 9:24pm Richard from Venezuela:

Rainy night around here. Waiting for the leak of Evan Brewer debut cd. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1KDEQoVM50
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:28pm Minnesota Jeff:

Go the Premium today, Dan Bodah! I haven't been able to give it a whirl yet bet I am STOKED!
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:29pm Dan B:

  Mon. 6/27/11 9:34pm Kat:

Noveller is on tour...saw her last week, excellent.
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:40pm Tom Miller:

Hey Dan -- listening from Reykjavik, Iceland where it's going on 2 am and broad daylight. Your signal is coming through loud and clear over the intertubes.
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:42pm Minnesota Jeff:

You had to get a nice Rotary dialin' rhythm going.
Mon. 6/27/11 9:43pm Richard from Venezuela:

Playlist is useful to scrobbling too. http://universalscrobbler.invitationstation.org/ . This is one of the many things why i love wfmu.
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:44pm Dan B:

@MJ, love it love it. I should get some clicks up for the show if I can find them. @Tom, greetings to the land of the midnight sun. I want to experience that someday! Get in touch when you're back, I want to have you on the show again soon. @Kat, I am jealous. YES SCROBBLE! SCROBBLE SCROBBLE!
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:51pm Tom Miller:

Dan, I streamed the shamans montage we aired on your show directly from your archive as background sound for my presentation to the social scientists up in Akureyri. They looked a bit puzzled when halfway through the German audioguide came on.
  Mon. 6/27/11 9:54pm Dan B:

@Tom, that's hysterical. Audio verité.
Mon. 6/27/11 9:55pm Richard from Venezuela:

Lute sound. Magical.
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:02pm Chris:

Really enjoying this track, thanks for the great show!
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:05pm Ike:

Dan's rotary dialing digression made me think of the old days of seven-digit local landline phone numbers, when I was a wee brat. Yep, the first three numbers in a seven-digit # were called "exchanges," and small towns, or clumps of towns, often all had the same "exchange." My town was so big that it had (at least) four exchanges! I still remember those four three-digit #s.
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:18pm Tom Miller:

Damn fine show.
Mon. 6/27/11 10:18pm damien of Illium:

@dj: please play something horrible and crappy (some played-backwards, slow-RPM, late-80s KISS, maybe?). I have to take out the garbage. thanks much
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:21pm Dan B:

@damien, is this If, Bwana horrible enough for trash duty?
Mon. 6/27/11 10:25pm damien of Illium:

I actually quite loved that stuff! Like weird Uncle Meat
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:38pm contraptiation:

all this good music makes we want to start a band named "speaking in thongs."
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:46pm penelope:

Hello Dan. Hello Tom too! I like the idea of scientists getting thier shamans via WFMU.
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:57pm damien:

the garbage bag took longer than usual (to sink to the bottom of the river). I, loyal listener, am back
  Mon. 6/27/11 10:57pm Dan B:

@penelope, hello! Are you digging the shark attack music after the invocation of never harming another animal by Mr. McCartney?
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:05pm penelope:

remember how just before 9/11 happened everyone was all riled up about SHARK ATTACKS?
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:06pm G:

and then 9/11 jumped the shark
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:07pm jaycjay:

Or, shark attacks jumped the shark.
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:12pm damien:

You need to Brush up on your presidential history! Teddy Roosevelt invented the Brush Hog. Or so I heard.
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:16pm the omen:

psst, damien is the antichrist
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:18pm Dan B:

Oh, I thought it was the Bush Hog he invented.
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:29pm fleep:

Just when my scrying mirror is out being cleaned, darn it.
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:31pm Dan B:

@fleep, it's always like that. Just be glad -- if you looking in it, you might see Ozzy in ridiculous red tights with his black and white checkered knickers showing through. Oh wait, that's the Sabotage cover.
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:42pm DaryAnn Coulter:

for years i thought that a "Barred Owl" was a "Barn Owl". This Barn Owl, apparently, is sitting on the Golden Bough, Immersed in Crowley's Uniform. Satanic Owl!
  Mon. 6/27/11 11:43pm Dan B:

@DAC, true that perhaps.
