  3:05pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

that's a hand crank; it's not automated
  3:08pm
BSI:

I need this like I need a hole in the head.

yes yes, your friend in gasping oily black paradise,
etc.
  3:08pm
jason:

  3:12pm

  3:14pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

THE FROGS! On your radio tonight, and forever!
  3:15pm
Carmichael:

Yes, well. I'm listening and, well, ahem. Yes.
  3:16pm
Scott:

Hullo allayou! Wendy, you need to send Dennis Flem a FB friend request stat
  3:18pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Scott, I'm on it! Thank you!
  3:22pm

northguineahills:

That was a fun "Da Funk" cover!
  3:26pm
Nathan:

@northguineahills That's exactly how I just explained it to my friend via email... (keeping each other abreast of records) Comp looks good as well, Big Naturals, The Heads, etc..
  3:30pm
don:

go on get down with it, scott
  3:35pm
Ike:

This is a truly sensational and delightful auditory sack of clattering racket today Scott.
  3:36pm
Scott:

Awe, tankee Ikula
  3:40pm
Ike:

Ikula?
Ikula.
Hmm.
This name is good. GOOD.
  3:42pm
Slogan:

He likes Ikula.
  3:42pm
BSI:

Dude. You're a big 'ol tiki-head now.
  3:48pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I wish people would stop coming near my cubicle and I could just put my head down on the desk
  3:49pm
Ike:

Heh BSI, if I were a graphic designer, I'd be inspired to create an awfully odd new avatar for myself now.
  3:51pm
director:

Now all make a circle and play your Ikeleles round the Ikula idol while maidens dance the Ike-hula.
  3:53pm
Ike:

DJ/rupture and Dave Emory swapped places, didn't they? Maybe to make a talk-talk-music-music block after 6 p.m. instead of a talk-music-talk-music?
  3:54pm
Swedish furniture magnate:

no IKEA jokes, vanlingen
  3:54pm
Scott:

Ah, right you are Ike!
  3:55pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I give a big A+ to this Steel Mill track. Very awesome gee-tar sound, and all-around cool song. I'ma hafta look 'em up...
  3:55pm
BSI:

Don't store your VHS tapes near the furniture magnate.
Swedish or otherwise.
  3:59pm
fred:

@DCE: there's an easy fix to that: hit the Kenny archives, plug out the headphones and assume an entranced demeanor as you endure "the weather". They'll probably give up before you do, ensuring hours of fearful and quiet station listening bliss.
  4:03pm
fred:

Known Kenny G side effects include having coworkers giving you a wide berth, which may or not be considered harmful
  4:03pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

fred, it can't get much wider than it is right now
  4:05pm
fred:

then there"s not much to lose
  4:07pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

well, just the part where I get paid
  4:08pm
fred:

that's something to be considered
  4:13pm
Mr. Burns:

Smithers, did we start paying again. DRAT.
  4:17pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

love April in the Orange--I think Brian Turner played some last week.
  4:21pm
BSI:

this Orphan Fairytale piece shall be the new national anthem for the ghosts that inhabit my space kidneys. Lovely stuff.
  4:23pm
Scott:

Yeah BSI, she's incredible - check out the LP Ladybird Labyrinth, if you can find it
  4:23pm
fred:

@DCE: I hope I didn't come out as too flippant, if so I wholeheartedly apologize
  4:25pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

nah nah nah, not at all....I do feel I have to be a little more careful here lately. If I don't want to feel the cold weight upon my neck area.
  4:26pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

hell, the comments board is one place you're supposed to be flippant! (ghosts in space kidneys, etc...)
  4:26pm
Mr. Burns:

Call HR and have that added that to his personnel file, stat, Smithers.
  4:26pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

maybe I was too flippant about the ghosts in your space kidneys, though
  4:31pm
Sacto:

Nice flickering overhead... Hey, I don't mind being a cubicle today!
  4:31pm
BSI:

No sweat about the kidneys. They're nationalists now, thanks to Orphan Fairytale. They will conquer us all without firing a shot...... Because they're, like, kidneys... and such.
  4:34pm
fred:

Do be careful, by all means, your income will come in handy for the station sooner than we think
  4:41pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

There's a few great old clips of R Stevie Moore on the Uncle Floyd Show, including this one (with alas, lip-synching instead of a live performance, but much mugging for the camera), where he wears a WFMU hat! http://youtu.be/183VLGmPe1o
  4:44pm
Oogie:

I could tell ya some green room tales!
  4:45pm
fred:

I'm so looking forward to seeing R. Stevie Moore live in Paris next month! That's a do-not-miss event if I know one!
  4:47pm
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Hi everybody
  4:47pm
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Hi everybody
  4:48pm
fred:

Hi Yair Yona!
Hi Yair Yona!
  4:48pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

hi yair in tel aviv!
  4:49pm
Sacto:

Stevie Moore just played here, in farmland norcal, north of Davis, last month for KDVS Operation Restore Maximum Freedom.
  4:50pm
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Looks like I missed one hell of a show so far
  4:50pm
Scott:

Yo Yair!
  4:52pm
Bas, NL:

Hi Scott! This Mueran Humanos track is awesome!
  4:53pm
fred:

@yair: Hofesh Schechter has a great-looking show in London next month. Unfortunately going there is way too expensive for me. Maybe you know this guy, zax was in art school with him
  4:54pm
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Fred, I'm not familiar with him sorry. Scott, this track is really amazing
  4:55pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

BAS! Hello, my friend!
  4:56pm
Scott:

Hi Bas! Yeah, seek out their record on Blind Prophet (which sadly this track isn't on - tho maybe on the Italian CD issue)
  4:57pm
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

It reminds me of The Phantom Payne for some reason, just with keyboards
  4:59pm
Bas, NL:

@Scott: Thanks; have to find that one!
@Wendy... WENDY!!!!! Hi there my all too far away nearness!!
  5:01pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Bas, I was recently writing about Saenkanter and thought of you!
  5:01pm
fred:

@Yair: he's a choreographer first, drummer second. I really hope to see more of the Tel Aviv noise scene around here. I bookmarked Heart and Crossbone but it doesn't look promising so far. Do you have any inside info about local acts playing in france this summer?
  5:06pm
Bas, NL:

Gotta find me some quick, Wendy.. mouth watering already! Yum!
  5:11pm
Bas, NL:

I just found La Langosta by Mueran Humanos on archive.org...
  5:11pm
Ike:

Woah, Saenkanter sounds tasty. No cheese where I'm going, though. I'm off to eat giant kimchi buns, and pork in black bean sauce wrapped in tofu skins!
  5:12pm
Scott:

Excellent Bas
  5:12pm
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Fred, I know Zax, and Hearts and Crossbones is the number one source in Israel for noise ,drones, doom etc. Look for projects with Rani Zager, he runs the label and a friend of mine. Don't know about gigs in Paris, though I might play there in September ;)
  5:14pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Ike, that sounds really good. Will you post pix to your FB?
  5:15pm
Bas, NL:

And seems to have been released 2007 by Holyrook Records, Barcelona..
  5:17pm
Ike:

Hey Wendy, I forgot my camera, but existing pics are at:
http://ho.io/kimchibuns
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/658578
  5:17pm
Scott:

Cool! I know they recorded it in Barcelona
  5:20pm
fred:

Please let me know if you do! my email is counterfnord; that's a dot-com gmail account, hoping that's enough to fool the bots but not you
  5:32pm
fred:

If Arnaud Rivière is any way involved in your coming to Paris, just tell him to give me the news, he may not know me as "fred" but "WFMU" should do the job nicely (that's almost my nickname around here)
  5:37pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

was listening to two hours of Tropicalia today, I'm really enjoying the Brazilian Fuzz Guitars Bananas compilation, so amazing.
  5:41pm
glenn:

is tofu skins some kind of vegan touch football league?
  5:43pm
BSI:

...or a vegan street-gang in naugahyde doc martens?
  5:44pm
Ike:

I hope so.
  5:44pm
fred:

@yair yona: what's your stage name?
  5:46pm
glenn:

kimchi buns sound good though. i've yet to experience those.
  5:48pm
fleep:

Do the Kimchi Buns ever play the Tofu Skins in interleague games?
  5:49pm
Tofu Skins:

Nice buns, ya wusses.
  5:49pm
glenn:

kimchi buns sounds more like a frisbee golf team.
  5:51pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

Fred - Yair Yona ;)
www.yairyona.net
  5:53pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

  5:58pm
glenn:

  5:58pm
moose:

  5:59pm
moose:
