I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  12:13pm
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv):

Bryce - seven hours. btw, no one here knows what you guys are talking about with the whole doomsday thing. maybe we're bothered with other issues ?
  12:13pm
Cecile:

my friend and I at CBN decided to do something "spooky" we played Santeria ceremony recordings, Captain Beefheart (Floppy Boot Stomp), Exhuma and my friend looped gospel choirs singing ominous things. Wish I had a tape of it. He even brought in scarves and candles.
  12:14pm
Cecile:

I had to bail for a while to visit with my dad. I brought him down to the station, and he thought we were all smoking dope. (We weren't at the time.) LOL!
  12:15pm
Vicki:

Americans never know what time it is in the rest of the world
  12:16pm
still b/p:

We wish there was a tape of that, too.

Only voodoo show experience: a Sacred Arts of Haitian Vodou exhibit I saw at The American Museum of Natural History in New York years ago was small but out-freakin'-standing.
  12:17pm
bryce:

the WORLD. *yawn*

say when, or Zen:

From the magnificence of nature in the Land of the Rising Sun and the subtleties of its varied seasons
From the deep source of its pure waters
From the hands and hearts of its best artisans
Comes a whisky
Born from the Japanese way
Speaking to the soul and awakening our senses,
Taking us back to where it all began.

Suntory Whisky embodies the harmony that exists between Japanese nature and Japanese people.
Suntory Whisky is the fusion of the delicate forces of Japanese nature itself, combined with the passion and precision of the best Japanese artisans.
  12:28pm

  1:07pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

ok - beat this one: patrolling around a tank, on 4:00am when you're sleeping while walking, silence of the night, everything's freezing cold, and then BAM - you hit the tank's cannon with your head. rude awakening. happened to me twice. TWICE!
  1:07pm
Cecile:

falling on skates right exactly on your patella is also screaming pain.
  1:07pm
The Book of Revelation:

1. And verily for 7 years toes shall be stubbed, elbows banged, and basketballs thrown. 2. The winds shall be as like the wrath of a mad carpenter. 3. Architectural wonders shall slip under nail, and slapshots shall fly in the homes of the wicked.

  1:10pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

you have NO idea, the coldest, meanest metal hits your forehead. the real question though, is why patrolling for two hours circling a tank. I still haven't figured it out.

I was running in a very crowded race many years ago, and moving VERY quickly. The crowd suddenly parted, and I hit a parking meter. Right in the chest. My day was over. I'll always remember the sound of rattling coins.

aaron in chicago:

Wolgamot described the construction of the page that begins with George Meredith and that contains the names Paul Gauguin, Margaret Kennedy,39 Oland Russell, Harley Granville-Barker, Pieter Breughel, Benedetto Croce and William Somerset Maugham (this is the 60th page of the text) as follows— with many omissions, because I could not keep up: “Somerset has both
summer and set as in sun-set, and Maugham sounds like the name of a South Pacific Island, and Maugham wrote a biography of Gauguin, which name has both ‘go’ and ‘again’ in it, and Oland could be ‘Oh, land,’ a sailor’s cry, and Granville sounds French for a big city, which Gauguin left to go to the South Pacific . . . etceteras.” I couldn’t keep track of how the other names worked.
  2:32pm
bryce:

what??!? someone found and interviewed j.b. wolgamot???

aaron in chicago:

  2:35pm
Parq:

This makes surprisingly good work music, actually. The murmering voice creates a vibe that doesn't depend on comprehending what's being said.
  2:35pm

Haven't heard this track in a while and didn't know who it was by. Thanks Bryce!! When did you have cluster headaches?
  2:38pm
aaron in chicago:

I'm doing survey data cleaning right now and this might be the most perfect possible music for that
  2:39pm
Joe:

The track is almost perfectly timed up with the mail collator that is running behind me.
  2:41pm
n:

joe - i think that is a mail collator in the background
  2:44pm
bryce:

oh man, i have NEVER had cluster headaches, thank god!! would've killed myself within a couple weeks, max.

unless it happened after the point i learned that low dosages of psilocybin completely mitigate the attacks.
  2:45pm
Looms:

@Bryce: the pronunciation is no big deal to me, man! Love this "exotica touch" ;)
Seriously though, the fact that many WFMU DJs (and listeners) are interested in foreign art and culture is much appreciated here.
