  6:09am
Chuck:

I'm feeling verklempt...
  6:18am
Chuck:

Just pull my playlist for the bird theme from the blog...
  6:18am
Chuck:

If it's still there, which I'm not sure of...
  6:19am
Meghan:

I never got rid of it....
  6:23am
Chuck:

Yup, it's still there! Crap, over 2 years since any entries there. I should do something with it, except now I don't remember passwords...
  6:24am
Dave B:

  6:25am
Meghan:

morning Dave! Chuck, I can send you passwords if interested. (if I remember them!)
  6:26am

  6:35am

  6:36am
Dave B:

whoops... that was me.
  6:37am
Meghan:

hehe.... of course Dave! I always do! hence this one!
  6:39am
Dave B:

And fortunately, this is from vynil, not the remaster with Chad Whackerman and Scott Thunes re-doing bass a drums
  6:39am
Dave B:

vinyl..... feck.

COFFEES READY! (NyQuil is still coursing thru my veins)
  6:40am
Meghan:

ewwww, really? bass is not a good sub for drums....
  6:43am
Dave B:

when "we're only in it for the money" was originally released on CD, the bass and drum trackes were lost, and re done by two Zappa alumn - Thunes and Whackerman.

The result was a very modern recording of B/D over vintage tracks... just never sounded right

  6:45am
Chuck:

Ha! This Stones cut was a must, I know...

  7:00am
Meghan:

  7:02am
Chuck:

Unless... Meghan, can't you just put a link to the FMU archive on the blog?
  7:03am
Meghan:

I could! Though, don't know who's reading it, but it could be worth it to get new listeners....
  7:04am
Dave B:

http://www.boingboing.net/2011/04/13/operating-instructio.html

Dave B:

Elwyn...
  7:14am
Meghan:

hehe... how come i am reading that like Newman.......
  7:15am
Elwyn:

I'm so glad this song made the cut!

After showing self-control by not buying any new CDs for 72 days, I bought the new Low CD and the first two 2010 rerereleases of the Galaxie 500 albums.
  7:15am
Dave B:

Helllo.... Elwyn.
HAHAHA

WEEN. Sweet!
(was cranking Moistboyz all day yesterday)
  7:18am
Chuck:

Papa-oo-mao-mao!
  7:18am
Elwyn:

I wish I lived somewhere where I could get that Laura Cantrell special release for Record Store Day.
  7:20am
Dave B:

Ha! I'm going to see Laura Cantrell on Sunday at my friends house in Rhode Island
  7:21am
Richard from Venezuela:

Laura Cantrell is hot.

  7:21am
Miss Vicky:

My sweetie!!
  7:22am
Elwyn:

She's playing at someone's home! I'm jealous! Can you tell her to come to Australia? She probably won't remember my name from Facebook.

@Chuck: That's why I call him "Evil Brady".
  7:22am
Dave B:

http://www.lauracantrell.com/gigs.asp

This is my friend who does these shows. Been going for years. Elwyn, if they have merch, what are ya looking for?
  7:22am
Richard from Venezuela:

One of my favorites Tiny Tim's songs!!!.

Thanks Meghan. Terrific selection.
  7:23am
Dave B:

Yeah, call me evil... at least I haven't succumbed to the dark side...
  7:23am
Meghan:

With a young kid, I doubt she is traveling that far. One of the reasons why she doesn't do a show here right now. Which makes me sad. I have always loved her shows
  7:25am
Dave B:

she'll be playing May 19 at Hill Country BBQ too!

MMMMMMMMMEAT!
  7:25am
Elwyn:

I guess I have to go to the USA...

@Meghan: Your time at WFMU and her's didn't overlap, did they?

@Dave: Probably a Medium or Large t-shirt and I need to find out if her latest album will come out in Australia, which is actually usually more expensive than getting it off the Internerd.
  7:27am
Chuck:

Don't know if it on your itinerary, but swing by my way if you can,. Dave. I've still got a bunch of venison that needs to get in someones belly!
  7:27am
Meghan:

nope they didn't... though I have seen her around here. I was supposed to help her edit some stuff....
  7:27am
Chuck:

MMMMMMEAT, back at ya!
  7:28am
Elwyn:

@Chuck: Thanks for making me jealous for two reasons. :-)
  7:29am
Dave B:

Chuck, end of May I'll be heading up that way. I PROMISE I will stop by. This weekend is gonna be an I-95 drive to the city on Monday morning...

If you, Meghan and others in the NYC area wanna go to the May 19th gig at Hill Country that'd work too!
  7:33am
Meghan:

May is pretty full..... though it is tempting. I'll have to see
  7:34am
Chuck:

Good, DB. I will have G'Kar greet you!
  7:37am
Dave B:

15 bucks. Plus MEAT BY THE POUND!

http://music.hillcountryny.com/event/37243/

Lemme know. It's around the corner from work. I can reserve a table...
  7:40am
Meghan:

I've been there once before, but not to hear music. Just to eat. I "interviewed" for a job the next block up.
  7:41am
Parq:

Wait, they have live music at Hill Country? Cool, that's right in my nabe. G'morning Miss Meg, and all.
  7:41am
Dave B:

BRAIN POLICE!!!!
  7:45am
Chuck:

I've already got the market cornered on dust. The rest is just plain disgusting!
  7:49am
Chuck:

OH! You've gotta do "New Rose" by The Damned! Damn me for not thinking of it sooner...
  7:49am
Meghan:

Morning Parq! I have the the market cornered on dust bunnies...... Every time I collect them, they make a little Bosco!
  7:50am
Dave B:

Speaking of dust.... NYC BoH or whoever issues restaraunt ratings made McSorley's clean the wishbones on the gas lamp... BASTARDS!

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/07/nyregion/07wishbone.html
  7:51am
Parq:

Edith Piaf did "Vie" in English? More and more interesting. I have a good friend who's a singer, and the original French version is her signature song. I've heard her do it at least a dozen times, and I never get tired of it.
  7:52am
Chuck:

Hehe... I will have to take you out to Bacchus when you're here, Dave. It's got a McSorley's sort of feel and I was a bartender there for a period....
  7:55am
Chuck:

Meg, I could make pillows out of G'Kar's winter tufts shed all over the house! He looks so much thinner now without the winter coat...
  7:56am
Dave B:

@Parq - thankfully Meghan didnt select the 7 minute version Grace Jones did of "Vie"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYkVtz6ozJE
  7:57am
Elwyn:

I can't think of any famously ancient pubs in Sydney.

I did go here in Melbourne in my last visit to my home city:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_%26_Jackson
  8:00am
Chuck:

Wow, that place is Big compared to McSorley's, Elwyn...
  8:00am
Dave B:

Meg - are you seeing RHH @ the Highline May 8?
  8:02am
Meghan:

Yes I am! Got my tickets on Groupon for $11 each! Woohoo!

I have never actually been INSIDE McSorleys. It was always full of tourists and stupid drunken NYU'ers...
  8:02am
Dave B:

@Elwyn - http://ozzi.com.au/
  8:03am
Elwyn:

@Chuck: It is quite a big place and not ancient on the inside.
Maybe I don't go out to drink enough but city pubs are nothing as interesting as the immortal "pub with no beer".
  8:03am
Dave B:

McSorleys is good, mid week early. Weekends its near impossible...

Hey, for the Rev, if ya wanna meet up before the gig, give a holler.
  8:05am
Chuck:

I haven't actually been inside McSorley's in a long time myself. Think it was 1981 last time I was there! Heard they now have bathrooms for both sexes instead of the "co-ed" disgusting one...
  8:05am
Meghan:

Sure! Depends on a couple things..... but sure!
  8:05am
Dave B:

Hitchcock's voice reminds me of Jah Wobble on this track
  8:07am
Chuck:

"Globe of Frogs" is my second fave Robyn release. Now BAUHAUS! Wah-hooo!!!
  8:07am
Parq:

I'm with Miss Meg on McS - got no use for that preppy crowd that's stuffed the place for the past three decades. In fact, that bunch has pretty much taken over Third and Second Ave below 14th Street. I don't even like being in that nabe at night any more.
  8:08am
Parq:

But then there's Veniero's ...
  8:09am
Jeff P:

Robyn Hitchcock & The Skeegyptians?
  8:10am
Meghan:

ha! morning Jeff! Hey, I still don't have a name for the skee ball team!
  8:10am
Dave B:

Agree - that hood has changed.

There's always Baczynsky's too Parq!

https://picasaweb.google.com/dbrady65/Buildings#5168325894819362930
  8:11am
Elwyn:

@Jeff: Ah! The Skee names just keep comin'!

I'm hungry. I'm going to duck out and get a kebab and chips. I'll be back soon!
  8:11am
Chuck:

Well that SUCKS, Parq! It was so Kickin' back in my day...
  8:11am
Jim Devoid:

You read my mind - New Rose!
  8:11am
Dave B:

VOLUME.....

UP! UP! UP!

DAMNED!
  8:12am
Chuck:

That's it! F@#K the neighbors! I crank to 11!!!
  8:12am
Meghan:

The Rose set came way too easy for me...... and of course this had to be in there.... wakey wakey!
  8:12am
PKNY:

"New Rose" kicks so much ass it's not funny,.
  8:16am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

There's a beautiful June Tabor album called Rosa Mundi - all songs are about flowers. beautiful stuff.
  8:17am
Jeff P:

Agreed, I'm not overly familiar with The Damned but my ears perked right up when that song came on
  8:18am
Jefff:

I know this is late (I was in the car), but do you remember seeing David Amram in Beacon? Brothers and sisters are you ready to testify?
  8:18am
Meghan:

good morning Yair! I'll have to check it out.
  8:18am
Dave B:

Saw the Damned eons ago at a small club on Long Island.... Always enjoyed em.
  8:19am
glenn:

what's with all the songs about roses? delphinium represent!
  8:19am
Meghan:

yes I do! I kinda forgot about it. He opened up and helped Pete Seeger. Speaking of..... Billy Bragg is doing this: Pete Seeger's Clearwater Festival at Croton-on-Hudson on 18th June
  8:20am
glenn:

that said - sally timms - when the roses bloom again.
  8:21am
Chuck:

Well that's my neck of the woods, Meg! Y'all come up and see us...
  8:22am
Cheri Pi:

Good morning Meghan and the world! Show is sounding great this morning!
  8:23am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

It's Thursday, 15:23 in Tel Aviv, and that means only one thing - the week's over in two horus or so. long live lazy friday and saturday mornings.
  8:23am
Meghan:

Good morning Cheri! Thanks!
  8:23am
Dave B:

http://lifehacker.com/#!5539729/make-bacon-fruit-cups-for-the-ultimate-sweet-and-savory-mix

Meghan:

ha! Mohawk Dave shows up as Jeff leaves? Wow! Yes Dave, archive it baby!

Dave- Bronwyn posted about that before. It's amazing and sad at the same time.......
  8:47am
glenn:

that's so unbelievably sexist and objectifying. i love it. actually, i was thinking more along the lines of cooked bacon. of course, now i'm thinking of RACK of lamb.
  8:48am
Chuck:

Hell I can make squirrel beer holders. Though I think that's kind of sick and mean. I've hunted/eaten them, but using what's left for that is too wierd even for me....
  8:49am
karen:

Did someone say "lamb"? Baaaa
  8:49am
Elwyn:

:-( It's not rosey upon my return!
  8:49am
seang:

cool tune
  8:49am
Meghan:

that's aardvark.....
  8:49am
RobotBoy:

Bacon and squirrel hunting? I always envisioned the WFMU audience as people who liked I dunno, lattes, maybe energy drinks, and uh... not bacon.
  8:50am
Chuck:

Uh-oh! What happened, Elwyn?
  8:50am
RobotBoy:
