Hi Bronwyn and Jay
Tue. 4/12/11 7:05pm Listener John from NJ who lives in NJ:

Tue. 4/12/11 7:06pm Listener John from NJ who lives in NJ:

Aarrggh!
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:10pm Woo Hoo:

Ahem... 17 to 25 percent of us are out of work or struggling. Signed, discouraged worker.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:12pm Woo Hoo:

The fun part about the budget impasse: just read the summary of the "budget agreement" and GUESS WHAT! they increased the military budget. What a surprise.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:22pm Listener Terry:

I wonder how much of the swarming was sock puppetry? The hack by Anonymous of HB Gary Federal brought to light a bunch of plans, later announced by the military, for the sale of software that allows for the managemnt of multiple fully integrated online personas by a relatively small group of people.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:26pm Woo Hoo:

Good point Terry. Anyone remember the Hyde Amendment? Federal funds have been forbidden from funding abortions nationally since then. The Planned Parenthood talking points were a red herring.
Tue. 4/12/11 7:26pm Listener John from NJ who lives in NJ:

Representative Boehner is probably of German descent, and the "oeh" represents an "o" with an umlaut over it. I think . . .
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:27pm Woo Hoo:

The Times deserve being hated on. Read it with a grain of salt, they are on the wrong side of the culture war.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:27pm Listener Terry:

Like Groening.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:30pm Listener Terry:

S/He is sub-incisive.

  Tue. 4/12/11 7:33pm Paulbert:

do they have a software pro
gram to make your face like it was done by Francis Bacon?
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:36pm J J:

  Tue. 4/12/11 7:36pm JT:

This telemarketer is hilarious.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:36pm Woo Hoo:

So, she is in FLA!!! Language origin is Russian? This woman has called me many times before.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:37pm OeO:

sounds so real!!!
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:38pm Woo Hoo:

This woman (or her clone) asked me a hundred questions about the Fukushima Plant just two weeks ago! I tried like all hell to correct her pronunciation and she kept soldiering on...
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:39pm Marmalade kitty:

origin was not Russian. Mre SE Asian.
LOL
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:39pm Woo Hoo:

We all live in Yuri's world. He saw it first.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:39pm Brian:

Out of curiousity, who is she working for? Is it a business solicitation or what?
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:41pm Marmalade kitty:

Sorry that was *More* SE Asian
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:41pm Woo Hoo:

Kitty, she confused me a lot. Chinese was my second choice. Russian, Chinese, who knows. The last caller ID I got from her (or her clone) was Ogden Utah...
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:42pm CBK:

Yuri rocked this world...Putin's space daddy... : )
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:43pm Woo Hoo:

Brian, I get a lot of these calls.... usually they try to provide either electric or gas or both, at a fixed rate for the year. Scam scam scam. Friend of mine bought into it and his life is a mess.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:45pm david:

8 wars including Horn of Africa, Columbia, etc.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:47pm Woo Hoo:

Afghan war = 2 to 3 Billion a WEEK! The average Marine/soldier comes to ONE Million a year. Personally, if I were a Marine, I would just take half in cash. PS: the Prez has at least 3 private armies (other than the armed forces) at his disposal.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:48pm Jim:

I live in Columbia. What war?
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:49pm Woo Hoo:

That's Colombia Jim.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:49pm david:

...Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan...
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:51pm d:

Israel can have 30 Bil up front to do whatever they please, including make us look perfectly stupid.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:52pm david:

... and a noun, terror.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:55pm not david:

moo
Tue. 4/12/11 7:55pm daniel from sf:

i just found the comments too, now I'm all excited
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:56pm Listener Terry:

It's ALL magical thinking.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:58pm Woo Hoo:

What Lincoln did say very clearly about war in his first inaugural address was that it was his duty "to collect the duties and imposts," but "beyond that there will no be any invasion of any state . . ." That is, if Southern secession made it impossible for Washington, D.C. to "collect the duties and imposts" (i.e., tariffs on imports, which had just been more than doubled two days earlier), then there will be an invasion. He followed through with this threat, and that is why there was a war that ended up killing 670,000 Americans, including some 50,000 Southern civilians, while maiming for life more than a million.

btw, Fort Sumter fatalities: 0 human, 1 horse.
  Tue. 4/12/11 7:59pm CBK:

You know whats funny ? Albinos...
  Tue. 4/12/11 8:00pm bunches:

Great show, folks.
  Tue. 4/12/11 8:00pm Ike:

The scientists and experts clearly need better groups of people to test on, and better double-blinding. A recent New Yorker article about this was really interesting -- scientists' and experts' tests often "backslide" when repeated, showing fewer and fewer of the same results over time....
  Tue. 4/12/11 8:00pm Black albino:

I'm a black albino, straight from alabama, way down south cause you know that i'm a black albino straight from alabama....
  Tue. 4/12/11 8:00pm d:

No mo wawah of nawhtun agression!
  Tue. 4/12/11 8:02pm CBK:

Told you Albinos were funny...
