You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Listener comments!

  Mon. 2/28/11 9:14pm Tom L:

Bring the noise, Dan!
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:19pm Danne D:

Go Dan Go!
And as to Bill Mac, I hope and pray you'll be gracing us with another virtuoso performance at this year's Hoof N Mouth?
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:21pm Danne D:

$1 day for a mouse. If you skip the Parkway and take Route 1 instead once a day there's your $1 right there :)
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:33pm SlowFastHazel:

I <3 Deerhoof!
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:43pm SlowFastHazel:

Play some Savage Rose
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:45pm Danne D:

This is great! People better get cracking on the phones and internets and pledge to support great radio like this :)
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:47pm Dan B:

I was really excited to find this gem sitting unobtrusively in our tape library, looking so innocent! When it's anything but....c'mon -- "I like meatballs so you better get ready!"
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:54pm Danne D:

Colorado and Wyoming are tied with North Korea right now?
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:56pm David L:

Deciding which premium I want is not easy! Rather than putting it off until the end of the marathon, I think it's better if I pick one early. This way, if I want another one later, I'll just donate more. I think I can handle a few bagged lunches instead of delicious Chipotle burritos for a few weeks (I hope...).
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:56pm Tom L:

This is amazing. Es.
  Mon. 2/28/11 9:58pm Chipotle Burritos:

We're carboriffic. You'll live without us.
  Mon. 2/28/11 10:01pm David L:

http://www.theatlantic.com/food/archive/2010/06/mcdonalds-vs-chipotle-does-the-big-mac-win/58142/ but...sweet, sweet, sodium!

Salted PB+J will do the trick there, I guess. PLEDGE POWER GOOOOO
  Mon. 2/28/11 10:07pm Danne D:

Btw, comments boards fans you may (or may not) have noticed but there are comment boards that can be adopted this year! (including this one - assuming nobody has snapped it up yet). For a pre-paid pledge of $180 or more you can adopt this very board! How cool is that? :)

  Mon. 2/28/11 10:27pm Danne D:

To give you an idea, WFMU's budget for the entire year would buy 10-15 seconds of advertising for the Super Bowl.

Btw, I asked Ken if he'd change his middle name if someone wanted him to do so for the $1million bid and he said he'd change his first name! So if I hit the MegaMillions tomorrow you might have Danne Friedman running the station :)
  Mon. 2/28/11 10:38pm frisco kid:

Just fyi, I think Charles Gocher's last name is pronounced is pronounced Go-Shay, French-like. Pretty sure that's how I've heard the Bishop brothers say it.
  Mon. 2/28/11 10:40pm Dan B:

@frisco, thanks!
  Mon. 2/28/11 10:49pm Blague:

I will pledge $1,000 if I could get a notarized guarantee that Bruce Bennett's smarmy voice will never again stain the airwaves of WFMU. I await your reply.
  Mon. 2/28/11 10:52pm Dan B:

Sorry Blague, we don't auction off our programming autonomy...even to program dreadfully!
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:01pm BruceBennett:

Gosh but hey that's a hekuva nasty comment there buddy boyo golly gosh beave wow did I mention "The Wild One" is the Greatest Cinematic Event Ever?
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:04pm Danne D:

Blague inadvertently brought up one of the great things about FMU - there are times (and I'm not saying this about any of the present company mind you) that you just have to turn it off. If I hate something on FMU I feel like it's accomplishing its mission actually of having as broad a range of programming as possible.

(Actually I will guiltily admit that I did turn down one of the songs Dan played today (though I've turned up more than 1 :)
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:09pm Charles P:

It's pronounced like Good Grief Charlie Brown
Mon. 2/28/11 11:10pm interview by don campau:

To start off, let me get the definitive pronounciation…“Greef” or “Gr-eye-f”?

It's pronounced Gr-eye-f.
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:14pm ?:

If we've pledged earlier in the show are we up for these (completely awesome) "grand prizes," or would we have to pledge again?
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:17pm Dan B:

Pledgers from throughout the show are in the running for the grand prizes
Mon. 2/28/11 11:18pm dan in Falls Church VA:

  Mon. 2/28/11 11:19pm Danne D:

  Mon. 2/28/11 11:24pm KM:

it's from a Queen song
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:30pm Danne D:

I remember the House of Tomorrow of fund - I got one of those sweatshirts. I wore it to death :(

It's called a mouse pledge because it is dedicated to the web-streaming actually :) Now of course the computer mouse itself is becoming obsolete...

$3000 gets you all DJ Premiums and get a day of joy in the record library!

Now I really am going - goooooooo FMU!!!!

Okay now I really am going :)
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:34pm Ike:

Wait, wasn't it House of Tomorrow -> House of Today -> Mouse of Today? I don't think there was ever a Mouse of Tomorrow, was there? Aw hell, I'm not even sure.

Love the show! Pledged pre-marathon.
  Mon. 2/28/11 11:40pm Joe B:

you are right Ike.

Good luck Dan!
Mon. 2/28/11 11:58pm Andy in Iowa City:
