Re: Kahiki - can't remember what's become of restaurant itself (know there is a Walmart across the street), but the Kahiki is still in business. They produce TV dinners. I'd consider mailing you one, but may prove to be a logistical challenge.
  2:44pm RHenderson:

"Why?" !!! The Stallions did an amazing cover of this years later. A tall skinny white guy vocalist and two Japanese girls screaming "WHY" in the background - I always thought it was their song!
  2:45pm Brez:

Oh, but the public DOES want to sit around hearing songs about procreation!
  2:47pm SSHARK:

It became a Walgreen's. No more Shark's Tooth

I still have some of the collectable mugs from the Kahiki. Looks like there are still some to be had out there on ebay - http://tinyurl.com/4cupdoc
  3:03pm Andy S.:

Guitar Slim -- love this guy! Jerry Wexler and Ahmet Ertegun were recording him in New Orleans and Slim told them "I gotta put my singin' pants on" -- and he did!
  7:21pm Tom:
