Good evening Betsy,
I just KNEW you'd do a tribute show for the great Louvin Bros! Love it
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:09pm Ike:

Woah, I only caught the end of "What Are Those Things (With Big Black Wings)" but that was impressively creepy. And "Must You Throw Dirt in My Face" is such a masterfully-crafted song.
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:10pm northguineahills:

I must admit I heard "The Christian Life" the first time by the Byrds.....
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:11pm mrmucho:

The Byrds' version is great. RIP Charlie. Great singer.
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:11pm glenn:

ira louvin is easily one of the great songwriters. hi betsy.
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:12pm Betsy:

Hey everybody! RIP indeed, Mr Mucho. One o' the greats of country music.
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:13pm glenn:

ira was also a really good mandolin player.
Thu. 1/27/11 7:13pm Wade Austin Ritchey:

Hi, I've been enjoying your show a bunch. I wanted to ask, I found a Rosalie Sorrels LP the other day, travelin' lady - it's great. Have you come across her stuff? If so, how are her other LPs?
RIP Charlie.
Wade

Ain't lost that Louvin feeling!
Thu. 1/27/11 7:17pm listener james from westwood:

aw yeah, massive childhood "smokey & the bandit" flashbacks right here. awesome!
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:17pm Betsy:

Hi Wade, I don't much about Rosalie Sorrels, actually! Gotta check her out - I know some folks who really love her. And yes, Glenn, Ira was a great mandolin player, and a great high singer...
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:17pm Dickel:

Wow there's a T.V. show with this title... What a coincidence!
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:17pm Hegemony Jones:

Remember when cowboy "pearl" snap button shirts had metallic threads in the plaid in the disco era?
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:18pm Kenny Powers:

I'M GOING TO SHABOOM'S!
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:19pm Betsy:

Ha ha! You go Kenny
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:24pm Parq:

Agreed, Miss Betsy -- that Jerry Reed track is the nuggets. Loving this whole set.

  Thu. 1/27/11 7:43pm Aaron:

I thought E-bow Walker was some guy playing fiddle with an E-bow on any other show on WFMU...
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:44pm Betsy:

Aaron, I think Ebo Walker was a real person, maybe in the Dillards? Not sure
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:48pm Dickel:

Mister Rich has it right!
  Thu. 1/27/11 7:49pm Dickel:

the unknown female trio was great! Was that a sun record without any band credit? I'd love to know more or somehow get it....I dj (mostly) vinyl in a bar and play very similar material as your show - Love your show!
