You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

  Mon. 1/17/11 9:29pm Rick:

Off Duty / Boat Trip is nice. Wales is good. Trop. Hot. Dog Dan!
  Mon. 1/17/11 9:30pm Duke:

  Mon. 1/17/11 9:35pm Rick:

They're there :)
  Mon. 1/17/11 9:36pm Dan B:

@Rick, if only we could all live there
  Mon. 1/17/11 9:43pm Ike:

Love "Dogs Hot." I had no idea that was Lexie Mt. until I got a chance to glance at the playlist afterwards. I don't dig some of their other stuff but that's brilliant.
Mon. 1/17/11 10:07pm Richard from Venezuela:

Hi Dan and all the listeners.
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:11pm Brian Smith:

Eno entry PERFECT ! You asked what we wanted to talk about JUST as I was reading about Tunisia. Good job. I am online in Muskegon Michigan, (The west coast on Lake Michigan). It is snowing a LOT. Rock out brother.
Mon. 1/17/11 10:14pm Richard from Venezuela:

Thanks for the Animal Collective song.
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:17pm Brian Smith:

C'mon, just the TITLE "Switched on Bacharach" is cool....
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:22pm Dan B:

@Ike, how can anyone *not* love that song? You can't fake that kind of deep emotion! @Richard, nice to have you along! @Brian, thanks for checking in -- glad you're enjoying.
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:23pm Brian Smith:

Sparks, contemporaries of "Queen"?
Mon. 1/17/11 10:24pm Richard from Venezuela:

Thanks for sharing Sparks. I didn't knew them.
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:26pm cloaca:

  Mon. 1/17/11 10:27pm Dan B:

Still getting to know Sparks myself. They are a very oddball pop phenomenon, play a lot of sly intellectual games in their music, have also had big hits in the past. Very weird folks.
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:27pm Brian Smith:

I remember Sparks from late 70's early eighties, but my memory could be WRONG, (Oh No !)....
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:27pm Jess:

Omg. "aliens" is totally my new favorite song ever.
Mon. 1/17/11 10:28pm Richard from Venezuela:

Josmar Gerona - Ragazza http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4jTUnOSgrc
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:32pm Brian Smith:

Isn't there a "Garage Mahall " where the Sparks are palyed all the time?
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:36pm Rick:

Sparks early 70's lp "Indiscreet" was easily purchased on 8-track in the late 70's . Truly one of a kind.
Mon. 1/17/11 10:37pm Richard from Venezuela:

Seeing the playlist. Yanni?. Keys to Imagination is a classic. You rock Dan. Cheers.
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:39pm Brian Smith:

I remember sitting in a dorm room in Marquette, Mi, with a bunch of friends listening to Ken Nordine's weekly NPR "Word Jazz". Radio matters! More importantly, Ideas matter. Good Job!
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:39pm cloaca:

oh, man i gotta get the Running In Place comp! are there still copies?
  Mon. 1/17/11 10:53pm Brian Smith:

Bong time !
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:03pm Brian Smith:

(good call)
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:12pm Dan B:

Yeah, the Running in Place LP is in our store for only $15 -- here's the link -- http://store.wfmustore.org/lockedgroovelp.html
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:22pm Woody:

Sister Christian?!?! nice.
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:22pm JT:

  Mon. 1/17/11 11:24pm Dan B:

I think I'm going to sing this for the Hoof n Mouth
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:24pm JT:

this song is about losing virginity, right? cause i might have lost mine to this song, i don't remember.
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:27pm Brian Smith:

Isn't it an ad for "motrin"?
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:45pm Dan B:

@JT/BS: I think it's an ad for motrin, an exhortation to break hymens willy-nilly, a celebration of the American truck driver and greasy spoon diner neon lights, an allegory of the soul's search for the perfect club stage on which to perform, and a mother's recipe for cherry cobbler passed down to her son, who is embarrassed by her sentimentality but nonetheless keeps the recipe carefully folded next to the condom and stash of blow in his wallet. Oh, and also A-shirts (aka wifebeaters) and Old Spice.
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:53pm Brian Smith:

Oh, You are Tom Waits .
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:55pm JT:

Dan, fortunately I'm drunk too so I know just what you mean. Also once a girl gave me a silver neck chain for my birthday because we had made out, but little did anyone know we were listening to Zen Arcade! But my bro & sis would not leave us alone so I did not get under her bra.

This was, like, 1985. And Zen Arcade and Sister Christian were both 1984!

I know you know what I mean, man. It's a true story.
  Mon. 1/17/11 11:58pm Dan B:

Absolutely true.
  Tue. 1/18/11 12:00am Dan B:

Thanks for tuning in everyone, see you next week!
  Tue. 1/18/11 3:47pm Looms:

I've been listening to the Airborne Event archive and i say WOW!
