Listener comments!

  1:18pm Listener Jumpy:

"Harvard Coop" by Christoper Cerf is even better!
Cool catch, Rex.
  1:18pm Robert:

Isw that the same as the comedy writer (and sometimes performer) Christopher Cerf? (Who I always guessed was Bennett Cerf's son.)
  1:19pm Robert:

I'm thinking for instance of the National Lampoon Radio Hour.
  1:20pm Ken in Denver:

Wow! Great Penguin story! Has he lost his seat on the board yet?
  1:22pm glenn:

i was sure i heard freddie king. was that explosion?
  1:24pm Robert:

I see according to Wikipedia (usual disclaimer), yes, those were ALL the same Christopher Cerf, and much more. He did everything, it seems.
  1:26pm Robert:

Including, yeah, Bennett Cerf's son.
  1:27pm Tom Stein:

Reading pre-code horror comics while listening to your show.Makes a great combination!
  1:31pm ifny:

ha, always wondered where that excellent soundbyte came from - the curtain parts to reveal a lovelorn caveman...
1:31pm ChooChoo - Muscle Shoals, AL:

Caveman speaks to me. His story is my story.
  1:32pm Uncle Roy:

Makes me wanna hear some "Eefin"...
  1:37pm Robert:

I don't think you have to fear embarrassing Chris Cerf about "The Penguin", considering that a few years ago he told the NY Times his hero was Jerry Lee Lewis.
  1:37pm El Rapido:

According to my notes: "Caveman" by Tommy Roe on Judd
  1:38pm ifny:

@Uncle Roy: makes me want to hear what Eefin effin sounds like!
  1:41pm shota hishiyama:

listening in tokyo. love this taste:-)
  1:45pm Don (trip dub):

Garage Hound Dog. Niiiice. Got any Mickey Lee Lane Shaggy Dog?
  1:53pm ifny:

hishiyama-san: konnichiwa, genki desuka? ima wa nanji tokyo de? tabun "konbanwa" ne :P

go-nin mai, watashi ga setagaya ni desu-yo :)
  1:55pm ifny:

er, deshita-yo -- nihongo wasurimasu
  2:12pm Listener Jumpy:

A fee years ago, I tried to go see Cerf at a bookstore appearance a few years ago with the intention of bringing up the HL album. But I missed him.
2:24pm ChooChoo - Muscle Shoals, AL:

Nickle beer & Free Love!
  2:25pm Uncle Roy:

ifny: Eefinn', to whoever listens to it...can be one of the most disturbing things they've ever heard...or one of the greatest, it's a taste thing. Ol' Jimmy Riddle was the best at it...he used to do it on Hee Haw. Look it up!
  2:39pm ifny:

@Uncle Roy: i love it already. Will track some down.
  2:49pm Richard from Venezuela:

what a great songs. Thanks for sharing.
  2:56pm ifny:

Rex: I've been listening to your show since 2002. Thanks for all the good times. Not that I plan on stopping now...
