Listener comments!

  7:04pm
glenn:

i heart the louvin bros.
  7:05pm
Betsy:

Hi Glenn! Me too.
  7:06pm
glenn:

the deserter (betsy) returns.
  7:13pm
Betsy:

Ha! Sorry for deserting, but you gotta admit Julie's fill-in rocked.
  7:13pm
Anthony Atlas:

Okay, this coincidence is too much not to mention here. I'm tuning in to your show at work, (and I work at the Stanford Digital Library, right now cropping images from old 19th century biology books). The image of the page I'm working on right now is of a Plesiosaurus, a terrifying dinosaur of the sea! This Serratt song is gorgeous, and what better sea monster to accompany this song than a Plesiosaurus?
  7:16pm
Betsy:

Whoa! Amazing, here's to sea monsters, and troublesome waters!
  7:16pm
glenn:

actually. i missed it (chagrin, chagrin) and it doesn't seem to be archived.
  7:16pm
Rick:

Hi Bertsy, it's nice to have a show like this on fmu. Comforting and unique, and you sound so good on the mic!
  7:18pm
glenn:

today's request - skip a rope by henson cargill.
  7:19pm
Betsy:

Hey, thanks Rick! Nice to be here. Glenn I'll take a look, I like that one.
  7:23pm
Julie:

Hey Glenn, it's archived on my page and there's a link from Betsy's playlist page. It was so much fun playing country for an hour. But I am glad to see Betsy back!
  7:24pm
rusty beltway:

Appalachia PA reporting in....
  7:25pm
Betsy:

Roger that, hey-o Rusty!
  7:32pm
listener john:

I once met an evangelist in a laundromat who wanted to give me a tract called "A Roadmap to Heaven," but he had run out of them. It was ok, though, when I told him that yes, I did own a Bible and that I knew in general what he meant.
  7:34pm
Betsy:

Ha! I wonder if you can get there via GPS... ;)
  7:35pm
listener john:

I'd be afraid to see where the GPS would lead me!
  7:37pm
rusty beltway:

I hear the Road 2 Heaven passes through Toothpick Rhythm every Thursday nite.
  7:37pm
listener john:

I would have been ashamed to tell the man in the laundromat that there was "dust on the Bible."
  7:39pm
Betsy:

Hee hee!
  7:42pm
rusty beltway:

Check this out: I have my buddy's old 12string here that has a bunch of autographs. I can only make a few out but Tom T. Hall is one. Jones and Willie are on there too.
  7:44pm
Julie:

"Dust on the bible" would make a great country song
  7:46pm
Rick:

I've never heard of Jeannie, But WOOOAAHHH!
  7:46pm
Betsy:

Rusty, I hope the guitar lives up to the signatures!
  7:47pm
J. Spiff:

L.A. checking in. Also playing here: "Limitations on Liabilities for Actuarial Services." You're doing the better thing, by rather a bit.
  7:50pm
glenn:

robbie fulks does a great version of donna on my mind
  7:51pm
rusty beltway:

The 12string is unplayable! No tuning pegs! I'm supposed to fix it, but I just stare at it and feel unworthy.

Robbie Fulks is great. Another PA boy. Talent to burn.
  7:52pm
listener john:

Julie, "Dust on the Bible" is a country song -- Kitty Wells recorded it. (Maybe others too, I bet!) We used that song title long ago when I worked in a record store to refer to one or anothers' moral failings, which unfortunately were many.
  7:52pm
Betsy:

Hey to cryptic J. Spiff! Hmm, Glenn, I've never heard that version but I like Robbie Fulks
  7:52pm
Rick:

Youi're right, Betsy, I have heard that PTA song and enjoyed it tons of times, but didn't know the artist. Thanks!
  7:54pm
Julie:

Well, John, just shows my lack of country msuic knowledge. But Betsy here is learnin me
  7:54pm
cheri:

hiya betsy--happy holidays,,,
  7:55pm
listener john:

Julie, don't worry about it! I haven't heard 1% of the songs that Ms. Betsy plays. (Thank you for playing so many great songs, Betsy!)
  7:57pm
cheri:

thank you for a great show betsy!!!
  7:58pm
Betsy:
