Listener comments!

  3:02pm
PMD:

Happy Post Stuffing Day Irwin!
  3:02pm
Matt from Springfield:

First! But somehow I still feel empty...oh yeah, the empty playlist.
  3:03pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

that's my alma mater as well...I have a MFA.
  3:03pm
?:

Bachelor of Forlorn Discoveries?
  3:04pm
PMD:

Ha Matt. I'd say you should get a typing degree from FU, but that sounds so hostile. And yet it's funny when Irwin combines it with BFD. I'll never be a comedienne...
  3:05pm
Matt from Springfield:

@PMD: You cut me short. BFD.
There ya go, no vicious hostility!
  3:06pm
Matt from Springfield:

YES! The Professor again!
  3:06pm
Robert Walser:

I am not here to write. I am here to be mad.
  3:10pm
Laura L:

Herr Walser, we're all mad--so pick up that pencil and get yourself back into the Bleistiftgebiet!
  3:17pm
Robert Walser:

No pens or pencils allowed here. People self-harm with them. What a sad life indeed. But then, we knew that.
  3:17pm
Parq:

'Scuse me, folks, but is there something wrong with the Fash beta, or is the problem only with my puter?
  3:19pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I could not get Flash to work. Resorting to 20k wimp and it sucks.
  3:20pm
Parq:

Thanks, DCE. I can't even get WMP to work, but that's been true for a good while now.
  3:20pm
ScottC:

I just hurt my neck...
  3:20pm
PMD:

I'm gonna go jump now.
  3:20pm
Lizardner Dave:

Been on Windows 20k all day, no problems.
  3:21pm
Swami:

Yeah, Flash is down; 20k ain't terrible, but it ain't great.
  3:22pm
Stephin Merritt:

They will hear me say,as the pavement whirls,
"I hate California Girls"
  3:23pm
Matt from Springfield:

128k stream working fine with Winamp all day--anyone else using that?
  3:23pm
SLee:

Couldn't get Flash to work either. First tried windows player, it sucked. Went to iTunes sounds good.
  3:24pm
Matt from Springfield:

YES PLEASE!
LOVELY!
AH! (OoLONG Ah!)
  3:24pm
Ike:

AAC+ (32k) sounds a lot better than WMP. It was crackly earlier but fine now. Only playable with Winamp, Foobar, VLC, and other lesser-known players.
  3:24pm
Lizardner Dave:

Now this is a tea party we can all get behind.
  3:24pm
Streams:

WHINERS.
  3:25pm
Ike:

Agreed, Lizardner Dave! OO-LONG. OO-LONG.
  3:25pm
Matt from Springfield:

@LD: I agree! The Crumpet Craving Tea Party. The leader should call him Scalding Earl Grey.
  3:27pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Irwin: Although, I have extended my pinky when drinking from a handle-less styrofoam cup, just to be silly. It's harder than it looks.

And I think the stars are indeed aligning!
  3:30pm
BSI:

whoa..... it's not thursday..... is it?
  3:32pm
Matt from Springfield:

Why BSI? Does it feel like a Thursday? Or has Fabio been playing that last song?
  3:33pm
BSI:

Commonly used for Fabio back-announcing.... Funny how over time certain tunes take on a whole new context...
  3:35pm
Ike:

Matt, weren't you in Thailand recently? Did you try the tea at Black Canyon Coffee when you were there? It was as powerful as jet fuel. And all the green tea was absurdly dyed dark green.
  3:37pm
Nate in Detroit:

@BSI & @matt funny thing is, I think that Fabio's version of the song is from a different comp, which I believe credits the track to a different artist...but I could be wrong
  3:37pm
AnAnonymousParty:

This sounds the same as the 'Old Boss'.
  3:38pm
Matt from Springfield:

Yes Ike! I commented when I could (to Joe and Julie) as "Matt from Springfield in Thailand". I saw some Black Canyon coffee shops and stands, but didn't try their stuff. Green tea WAS pretty green--that was artifically colored?

But get this--I was in the North and actually had a tea-tasting at a tea plantation. I bought some great oolong (Number 12, so they say!)
  3:38pm
RIAA:

Irwin has to pay Fabio royalties each time he plays that track.
  3:40pm
Matt from Springfield:

@AAP: LOL, just noticed your comment!
  3:41pm
Ike:

Yeah Matt, I really like it up north there. I was in Chiang Mai about 4-5 weeks ago. A tea tasting! Mmmm. Next time!

Oh and green tea is never naturally THAT shade of green.
  3:44pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Ike: Julie said you went to the beaches area. I'd like to go there sometime. I was mostly in the Central and North. Chiang Mai (and Chiang Rai) are DEFINITELY more fun than Bangkok--more cultured, less unadulterated sprawl and traffic.

http://www.101teaplantation.com/
  3:45pm
BSI:

Another vote for pungent acid-burn coffee over here. Black as death. When the nice lady asks "you want cream & sugar?" the only response is WHAT THE GODDAMNED HELL DO YOU THINK? HAH? HAH?
  3:49pm
Matt from Springfield:

I mostly drink coffee black, and did so at the hotels and touristy places (which is usually instant and bland anyways). But Thai places sure gave me a run for my money. I eventually used the non-dairy creamer to take some edge off, if I could tell they were making it Thai style.
  3:50pm
Ike:

Beaches?! Heck no, never been! I much prefer Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai! Heh.
  3:52pm
Matt from Springfield:

Really? Maybe former "board-stalker" Julie was hinting she wants to follow you there, LOL.
  3:54pm
Coffee:

Once you go black, you aint never goin' back.
  3:55pm
Katya:

Pickle People. Tee hee!
  3:55pm
Tea:

Not so with me. Once you go green, you ain't never gonna be seen!
  3:55pm
AnAnonymousParty:

"Can Geico save you 15% or more on car insurance? Does Willie Nelson have a bag of pot in his glove box?"
  3:56pm
Willie Nelson:

Medical, man, medical.
  3:56pm
Matt from Springfield:

Just -A- bag??!
  3:57pm
Willie Nelson:

Grocery Store Bag, mmmhhhmmm
  3:58pm
NOAA:

There is a 100% chance of weather. You're welcome.
  3:58pm
AnAnonymousParty:

It's raining Marines?
  3:59pm
Katya:

LOL @ Irwin -- who can now appear in the Conet Project with their cryptic radio number lists
  4:01pm
Haledon P.D.:

All squad cars are immediately ordered to tune their stations to 91.1
  4:02pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Katya: Hey, did Irwin speak every 0-9 number? Someone can now put together a "numbers station" with Irwin announcing! Except Irwin's voice with end a sequence with a hearty "You're welcome!"
  4:05pm
In the Navy:

Raining Marines? Oh DO tell!
  4:11pm
Katya:

Nice one, Matt!
  4:19pm
glenn:

and how come you never see marines at marine land huh? seems like a perfect tie in to me.
  4:20pm
glenn:

  4:20pm
Willie Nelson:

It's 4:20, w00000000tttttt!!!!!!!!!
  4:21pm
Dave B:

  4:27pm
Dave B:

The people I met abroad didn't "get" Amanda...
  4:29pm
Matt from Springfield:

Welcome back Dave. Where did you travel?

I did play Amanda out of my iPod in Thailand, but I'm not sure if Web listeners of Irwin haven't already played Amanda before.
  4:30pm
glenn:

  4:31pm

  4:32pm

  4:36pm

  4:36pm
Jenny L.:

  4:38pm
Jenny L.:

  4:48pm
glenn:

  4:53pm
Jenny L.:

Did glenn write these "I Like" lyrics?
  4:55pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

  4:58pm
glenn:

i wish. i could use some royalties right about now.
  5:00pm
ASCAP:

Cut glenn a check for $.04.
  5:00pm
Mike East:

Does anyone know of any organizations devoted to holding NJ Transit accountable for bullshit service? I almost got thrown off a bus this morning because I was so angry...and I'm usually a very calm person.
  5:00pm
Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: Cobra Verde's from Cleveland? This song is pretty cool. The perfect kind of song to put in the trailer of a new movie that takes place in the 70s! You know the type!
  5:02pm
New Yorker since 1979:

It helps if you realize and accept the fact that public transit is there for the employees, not for the customers. The customers are just a pretext for paying the employees.
  5:04pm
New Yorker since 1979:

...that government of the public employees, by the public employees, and for the public employees, shall not perish from the earth.
  5:12pm

Our man Lee!
  5:14pm
Mike East:

  5:17pm
glenn:

  5:29pm

  5:29pm

  5:32pm
mikko:

hi
  5:32pm
glenn:

what is a chimichanga, anyway?
  5:34pm
Matt from Springfield:

A chimichanga is for people who crave a burrito, but just don't think burritos are deep-fried enough.
  5:36pm
gram parsons:

i don't recall burritos as being deep fried at all. not like me.
  5:37pm
Wikito:

Broiled monkey.
  5:40pm

@Huh?: Thank you, you just reminded me of something: due to my esoteric ad libs, a colleague today dubbed me "Matthew McConna-Huh?" It fits me to a tee!
  5:54pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Jenny L: It seems that Glenn is distracted by Alice C. You'd better sneak out now.
  5:55pm
