After the '68 Democratic convention and then the killings at Kent State, we knew we couldn't overturn the machine state, and so we retreated into our cynicism. Some of us transformed that cynicism into something wickedly funny, like these guys; while some just got dark and bitter, like me. These guys were smart and talented and true cosmic clowns , though now I'm uncomfortable with their ethnic skits.
