Ken in Denver:

Mikey? Mikey Loops? What's happening?
  9:02pm
Peteski:

What day is it?

Dad?
  9:55pm
Kramer:

I'm imagining Centralia.
  10:05pm
SiHV:

MIke! Nice to hear you on the air / packets.
  10:07pm
mike:

Thanks! Good to be here. Happy Guinness Day!
  10:19pm
Kramer:

Back in the last millenium, I bought a Saints CD, which forced me to buy my one and only CD player; a single disk BSR. Still have it. When the tray is out, it makes a good coffee cup holder. (Hints from Hell-o-weeze)
  10:19pm
Jon Solomon:

One of those Sorry records was on Radiobeat, I believe.
  10:22pm
mike:

Radiobeat! That's right, thanks Jon!
  10:23pm
Kramer:

Zither music ... verrrrry interesting. .
  10:25pm
Mr. Lee:

Digging the show!
  10:30pm
JMD:

Hey Mike,
Good to hear you on the air. Everything is soundin' fine tonight. Thanks.
  10:32pm
JMD:

Are we gonna get an update on the parking lot arguer?
  10:33pm
mike:

Yep, next mic break. Nothing too exciting.
  10:33pm
Kramer:

THey llived happily ever after on different sides of Paterson, NJ.
  10:34pm
rw:

there you go
  10:40pm
Kramer:

She wanted a wedding cake built from cup cakes like they do on all of the really kool new tvod shows. He wanted it to be built out of dunkin donuts with a maple bacon glaze. Irreconcilable in pastry ... irreconcilable in life ... so they split. They were just imaginations of themselves enyway.
  10:47pm
JMD:

Good one, Kramer! I resisted the urge to add on to your excellent story but I couldn't resist the urge to mention how I resisted the primary urge to comment. Ugh. Then, this great song from Judas Priest came on that I never heard before...
  10:50pm
Kramer:

Recursion is like living in an Escher print, cuidado.
  10:57pm
Kramer:

According to the CD yes, your recall is correct, 1989 Alternative Tentacles.
They claim to be from Vancouver.
I hate it when I hear a song from a CD I own and somehow completely missed it. Maybe I too should dispose of these shiny disks..
MIKE: Can you go over your motivation again for tossing these? Virtualization? retro-vinyl? Marzipan? ball lightning?
  11:02pm
mike:

@Kramer: Ask yourself this: In what way are CDs better than MP3s?
  11:07pm
Kramer:

I think of MP3s like copies of of copies. CDs probably have higher data density than the typical MP3. I don't want to lose the bits, 01100010011010010111010001110011
  11:07pm
JMD:

Hey Mike. Will you be hosting a regularly scheduled show on the new schedule? Too soon to tell?
  11:14pm
mike:

Nope, it's the fill-in's life for me! But drop me an email if you want a headsup as to when I'm scheduled. mike at w f m u dot org
  11:17pm
mike:

@Kramer, right you are. I resent CDs. Always have. Love records. Love MP3s. Gimmee more!
  11:19pm
Chop Scott:

Mike!

Always so damn great to hear you on the air, you are missed...
  11:21pm
mike:

Thanks Scott and all else who've said nice things tonight!
  11:29pm
JMD:

Well, then that will make your shows extra special. Kinda like surprise presents all year round. Neat! Thanks for the great show.
  11:41pm
Kramer:

OK. Analog is sweeter. I do harken to the day I bought the Locust Abertion tech. album, brought it home, put on Sweatloaf, turned it up to 11, then bumped the tone arm and left a 1/4 inch gouge on the quiet ramp-up in that lullabye.. As you can see, I'm still not over it, although I still have that scratched album.

And Thanks for keeping us musically amused. Clearly you have bigger things in life to manage, so its serendipity when you suddenly appear for a guest host.
I always find a few things from your shows that I have to go buy. Hey, I own Pell Mell CDs.
  11:43pm
mike:

Thanks, Kramer. You hit the nail on the head -- on a variety of topics!
  11:47pm
Kramer:

Not Hall & Oates? I must have skipped skool that week.
  11:56pm
rw:

Good one. Thanks, Mike.
