"There's the Tower of London. Oh look kids... Big Ben"

Rinse and repeat. We'll be back on the road again next week!
  6:12am
bennett4senate:

  6:35am
Andy in Berlin:

@chuck - if you listen with Real Player, you can pause it and it will keep your place while loading the rest of the show. At least for an hour or so, maybe more.
  6:39am
chauchat:

bonjour! let the twirling commence!
  6:40am
Murder4$AL£:

How about a Sesame Street theme! Is it possible??
  6:48am
Chuck:

I'm back. Fog is clearing and there's a full moon out! Gonna be a nice day.
  6:50am
Chuck:

I'm using the Linux OS, Andy. No Real Player...
  6:50am
Dave B:

Dumb question, but how do you/they pronounce "!!!"
  6:51am
Meghan:

I have seen it as Chick Chick Chick.... they say three sounds in a row....
  6:51am
Chuck:

Chick, chick, chick, Dave...
  6:52am
Dave B:

Hmmm... in I.T. parlance it'd be "Bang, Bang, Bang"

  6:53am
Meghan:

That works!
  6:54am
annie:

  6:55am
Andy in Berlin:

@chuck - too bad about real player. I find it very convenient for that reason. of course there is always the archive, so...
  6:55am
Meghan:

Ha! Thanks! It's fun to play stuff off of a theme sometimes!
  6:56am
Chuck:

What's the name of the African tribe that makes clicking sounds as part of their language? I forget... !!! could use that!
  6:57am
Andy in Berlin:

  6:57am
chauchat:

xhosa. miriam makeba has the great click song
  6:58am
Marco:

You wouldn't happen to have any serge gainsbourge?
  6:59am
Meghan:

Was that the song in Soul Power? The woman with the crazy hair?
  6:59am
Meghan:

Oh, I don't on me.... I didn't pull it, but I was just thinking about it actually!
  6:59am
Jefff:

This reminds me of the time I broke down in a small town in South Carolina. We spent the day walking up and down the street, sitting in the auto shop waiting for a part, and listening to music on a portable cassette player (this was pre-internet/cell phone) that played everything slightly slower than it should. Of course the music selection is MUCH better today! I loved Linda Laine.
  7:01am
Marco:

I know flu has a huge library. I wanted to hear Bonnie and clyde by Serge Gainsborgue
  7:03am
Meghan:

We do have a huge library, and have Serge.... but I am not on the same floor as the library and don't have monkeys to go get me the stuff i need! So hence, no Serge.... Sorry!
  7:04am
Marco:

:-(
  7:05am
pierre:

Serge Gainsbourg's "your under arrest" is fantastic.

  7:16am
Murder4$AL£:

  7:17am

  8:15am
jeff p:

how old is it?
  8:16am
Meghan:

about 3 years old? it's got 90 days left on apple care....
  8:21am
jeff p:

oh good. That's what i was checking.
  8:22am
Dave B:

Apple Care is worth every penny
  8:32am
Chuck:

One of Soc D's best efforts!
  8:32am
Andy in Berlin:

yeah, having a good guarantee is worth it. But 3 years is a good normal life for a laptop so you shouldn't feel too bad. I've had machines that would rattle after 3 years. And others that just went foom.
  8:33am
Chuck:

X hits the spot!
  8:34am
jeff p:

I disagree - AppleCare is NOT worth it unless you get it at a reduced price.
  8:36am
Chuck:

Must be the punk set... Drive on!
  8:38am
what the duck:

concrete blonde dropped the f bomb
  8:38am
Meghan:

How does one get it at a reduced price? I will say, it has come in handy for me
  8:39am
Murder4$AL£:

It always amazes me how good things can come from bad experiences. Todays show is just a little one of those. Thanks Meghan. Hope you get everything sorted out!
  8:39am
Meghan:

Yes they did.... web airwaves allow f bombs!
  8:42am
pierre:

merci Meghan !
c'était excellent
  8:44am
kath:

ooohhh, I totally forgot it was Thursday!
  8:44am
Chuck:

Morning, Kath! There's always the archive...
  8:45am
Dave B:

@Jeff / Meghan - corporate bulk / educational discounts. Agreed. I forget, I haven't paid retail for it in years
  8:45am
randy in NC:

Virtually every lap top made more than a year ago will eventually have its LCD screen die. It will either be the CCFL backlight bulb or the inverter or both that goes. Each of these items are less than $20 things, but they are virtually impossible to swap out unless you are really handy with electronics. I fixed my Dell screen for $20 but it took several hours. The symptom is that the screen starts looking pink. Then it only lights up for a few seconds when you first turn it on then goes black. Newer laptops use LEDs for the backlight instead of CCFL bulbs. LEDs should last essentially forever. Get Apple to fix it but hope that the CCFL backlight is not excluded from the warranty.
  8:47am
what the duck:

jeez f bomb central this morning
  8:48am
Dave B:

Greets Kath.
And alas, I need to Distribute Clues to Users.
Have Goober rotate the tires, top off the oil and check the antifreeze. We have some hard driving to do next week!

Gotta put together the F-Bomb theme one of these days!
  8:49am
jeff p:

@ Randy in NC: in Meghan's case, she's got a MacBook Pro with a bad video card, not the display. It was a common problem with this model (and other PC models with this particular card as well). And a display swap is easy if it's what one does for a living. :-)
  8:51am
randy in NC:

@jeff p Yes it's easy but the whole display usually is around $100 - $150.
  8:51am
Dave B:

@ Jeff P - yougotthatright....
Later peeps!
  8:53am
Chuck:

Any time left to squeeze in the 5,6,7,8's, Meg?
  8:57am
seang:

Todd-o-phonic comin up! Hell yes! Dude is crazy!
  11:37pm
