You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

  Sun. 7/25/10 6:18am andy/s:

Good Sunday morning!
  Sun. 7/25/10 6:20am Looms:

Morning Dan and listerners! Let's groove!
  Sun. 7/25/10 6:36am Lovich:

Good magic morning.
  Sun. 7/25/10 6:44am Bas, NL:

Morning all!
Pheww.. that Pink Floyd is great! I have always forgotten to listen to Pink Floyd somehow..
  Sun. 7/25/10 6:50am Dan B:

Good morning all - I missed you all the last two weeks! It's fun being back.
  Sun. 7/25/10 6:54am Bas, NL:

Good to have you back Dan!
  Sun. 7/25/10 6:56am Looms:

Being able to listen to my favourite DJs again is my only comfort: have to go back to work tomorrow, boohoo!
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:06am Hector:

Good morning all!
Nice Ilyas Ahmed track. Discovery for today, thanks!
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:12am Dan B:

@Hector, Ilyas's other albums are also well worth checking out. I think there are two CDs on Digitalis Industries collecting some earlier releases together.
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:13am Sarah:

Loved the French Canadian name pronunciation chat. (I have Petit relatives whose surname is pronounced "pitsy.")
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:15am Looms:

Glad you enjoyed your vacay. Had a nive one too, but as far as music is concerned, i'm overdosed with You Spin Me Round by the Chipmunks (the summer hit of all family kids).
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:18am Bas, NL:

@Looms: Ha, ha! How about spinning it the other way around? Sknumpihc? Maybe best half speed as well...
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:20am andy/s:

Talking of work this the first Sunday in at least a year when I can listen to the show without studying cos I finally passed all my exams! As luck would have it there is an Air Show on outside so I can barely hear it over the fighter jets. But still!

Bas, spinning the Chipmunks at half speed makes them sound like normal humans, it's creepy!
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:25am Bas, NL:

@ andy/s: Cold turkey Chipmunks.. iechh!! ;)
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:26am Looms:

Ha ha! These are accurate comments. Dan, do you feel like playing the Sknumpihc?
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:27am Dan B:

@Andy/S - Congrats. I might just have to play the Sknumpihc so we can all get up and boogie in your honor!
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:28am Looms:

  Sun. 7/25/10 7:30am andy/s:

ha thanks, I wouldn't be opposed to that idea!
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:30am Dan B:

@Sarah, yeah, I have a friend in my hometown who is called "Petit" -- pronounced <peh-dit>. Others are just named Petty now, but it's the same name. What other fun French Canadian name atrocities...oh goodness, looking through parish registers from the 1800s, the first names in Quebec are wild. Mederic. Onesime. Theophile. Dieudonne! Very pious folks.
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:41am Alex:

any reverse recording today?
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:43am Dan B:

@Alex, oh yes -- we've had a bit, and of course there is always time for more to come...sooon...
  Sun. 7/25/10 7:48am Alex:

dyolf knip was taerg ;)
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:01am Sarah:

Not to mention the glory that is French Canadian cursing!
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:03am charles:

A few weeks/months ago there was a fast paced song you played that was in arabic. I know that I am being vague but that is all I can remember.

If you know what I am talking about, could you play that song?
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:06am Dan B:

@Charles, oh man, I have no idea. There are a LOT of songs matching that description.
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:07am Bas, NL:

Sknumpihc... i'm .. speechless..
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:08am Looms:

Seems you need an ear wash and some comfort after playing the Chipmunks, Dan...
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:09am charles:

@dan. Maybe the artist name was Omar Souleyman? I have that scribbled on a piece of paper.
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:11am Looms:

Ecnad S'tel sounds good!
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:21am Dan B:

@Charles we can definitely hear some Omar Souleyman, and you can let me know if it's what you were thinking of.
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:24am charles:

  Sun. 7/25/10 8:26am Dan B:

@Charles, oh good. This record is totally bananas!
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:27am charles:

Going to pick up a copy
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:28am 1:

  Sun. 7/25/10 8:29am Dan B:

  Sun. 7/25/10 8:29am Dan B:

  Sun. 7/25/10 8:31am gum:

  Sun. 7/25/10 8:32am charles:

  Sun. 7/25/10 8:51am papaya boy:

Haven't heard this in ages...
  Sun. 7/25/10 8:57am Dan B:

@PB, total blast from the past right? Ever check out the Full Circle podcast? It's so-so, but lots of that old stuff.
