The acclaimed New York based Turkish-rooted saxophonist, record producer and club owner (NuBlu) Ilhan Ersahin brings in his Turkish / international jazz / improv combo Istanbul Sessions for a Jersey City session live on WFMU.

Named as a nod to the improv / jam sessions that are a staple of Istanbul's lively jazz scene, Istanbul Sessions is a supergroup featuring some of Turkey's most in-demand studio musicians and pop star accompanists.

The radio show is a tune-up for their big gig at Central Park Summerstage on Sunday afternoon July 3 as part of the ambitious multi-artist multi-genre Turkish concert, Istanbulive II. (They'll also warm up for Summerstage with a show at Joe's Pub on June 29.)
