You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Listener comments!

  Sun. 5/16/10 6:18am Looms:

Morning Dan! Gil Scott-Heron rocks as always but, hey! No sad news i hope!
  Sun. 5/16/10 6:18am winter:

moin
see gil scott-heron last friday live in hamburg and it was so cool.still a great entertainer.awesome
  Sun. 5/16/10 6:28am Dan B:

I've had Gil Scott--Heron on the brain all week. Amazing singer and still going after all these years and all that unrepentant crack smoking. I don't know how, but god save and protect him.
  Sun. 5/16/10 6:48am Looms:

Never heard that cover yet, i wonder if Erik Satie would like it (i do).
  Sun. 5/16/10 6:54am Dan B:

@Looms, I was actually listening to the song earlier this week and wondering exactly the same thing. I am guessing he would hate it -- my impression is that he was a control freak. I think it's brilliant though.
  Sun. 5/16/10 6:58am Looms:

He surely was a control freak, i cannot imagine anyone composing such accurate pieces without being one. And they all are brilliant, i couldn't agree more.
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:00am Looms:

I don't wanna know where this show is going, but to be surprised.
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:04am Tom L:

Morning all. Just saying hi. I'm stuck in a hotel room at my 20th high school reunion. I will have to hit the archive later. Set list looks brilliant.
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:05am Looms:

Have fun, Tom!
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:11am Tom L:

Thanks Looms. It is all a bit surreal.
Sun. 5/16/10 7:15am Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Strange. I'm a Monkey, not a man.
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:23am Looms:

Your selection gets brighter as the sky gets cloudier here, funny.
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:26am Dan B:

@Tom, is the reunion experience at all like Grosse Point Blank? That was all I could think of at my 20th. @Looms, I don't know what happened with all this upbeat music, somehow it just crept in. @DDGGD, don't fall from that tree please! And no more jumping on the bed!
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:27am moscowmark:

I love this fIREHOSE song. Love fIREHOSE in general. Hello to Mike Watt. One of the good guys.
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:32am Dan B:

Firehose goes out to Listener Lenny by request. Thanks for the great request Lenny, sorry I can't always get to what you ask for, but this worked perfectly.
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:38am Looms:

Seems The Living Sisters helped fighting back the clouds...
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:39am Tom L:

@Dan. Pretty close to GPB!
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:45am Dan B:

I wanna know where the Living Sisters get the right to be so damn happy!
  Sun. 5/16/10 7:54am Rachel Malheure:

if you find out, let me know!
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:02am LizGig:

More long and weird, please, Dan!
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:04am Dan B:

@LizG, you got it. @Rachel, will send extracted concentrate of Living Sisters joie d'vivre when I am able to isolate it in Owlsley's old lab.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:05am Dan B:

Is it too easy to post comments now without the math problems? I kind of miss getting them wrong.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:07am Rachel Malheure:

oh - here in germany we still have to solve them!!! always exciting challenge:)
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:10am Looms:

No more math problems? Oh yes, right! I would miss them...
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:11am steve:

Just had to see for myself...I still get the math problems.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:15am LizGig:

I still get maths problems too.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:16am LizGig:

The answer for my last comment was 442. And the answer for this comment is...
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:17am Looms:

I want the maths problems forever, they make me believe i'm clever.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:22am Rachel Malheure:

Yeah! and it's always kind of a adrenalin rush, to prove my cleverness to me
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:22am Dan B:

It must be a perk of being a WFMU DJ that I no longer get them. Finally, I get something for being a WFMU DJ!
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:24am Dan B:

I must say that I'm relieved that you all still get them, seeing as they are so popular! If they are ever eliminated, I promise to pose maths questions here that you must answer correctly lest I delete your comments and make you repost when you solve them properly.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:26am Looms:

Words fail me to express my love for that song. So minimal and overwhelming. Another guy gone too soon...
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:36am penelope:

morning dan! seaborgium is still sleeping. he would want you to know I think.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:37am Looms:

Can't get rid of this record either. I'm above the clouds now, thanks!
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:39am Dan B:

@Penelope, aw, poor seaborgium was up ALL NIGHT. maybe he'll still be up for joining me at meeting. @Looms, I'm just making your day -- here's your Gira request!
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:40am Looms:

Thanks, i'm now flying towards the sun.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:47am Ike:

Um, OFF THE AIR at 91.1! Yikes!

How's it going? Wish I could keep listening but I must drive somewhere and you're not on the air and I don't have wi-fi!
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:48am Dan B:

Thanks IKE!
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:51am Ike:

Sure. Been off air for at least an hour. Gee, never thought listeners in France and Estonia would hear it while I couldn't while driving up Rt. 21 in Belleville and Nutley.
  Sun. 5/16/10 8:52am Dan B:

Thanks for letting me know! Ken's on it.
  Sun. 5/16/10 9:02am eckhart:

drifting with you (at 3pm in germany) trough wonderful spacy- risky - surprising - and relaxed music. good morning & thanks! eck
  Sun. 5/16/10 10:00am Lenny:
