Good Morning! Greetings from Natal/Brazil!
  9:14am
north guinea hills:

'tis a nice way to settle into a Monday,,,,,,
  9:27am
annie:

good morning all!!
  9:45am
north guinea hills:

out of curiosity sake, is a composer listed for the "Life on Earth" soundtrack?
  9:48am
Cecile:

morning all! Back from 36 fun-filled hours in the Windy City!
  9:55am
Terry:

Life on Earth! The theme always gave me the shivers.

That was very Brycian of Bob to play the whole soundtrack. I enjoyed it!
  10:02am
dc apt:

like this Sharp Ends..
  10:02am
rich:

Grew up watching David A in the UK... brilliant show thanks for the music!
  10:05am
Charcutero:

Good Morning. Loving this Bronze track.
  10:09am
BSI:

What it is, jive turkeys!
  10:10am
Cecile:

Charcutero, are you in the meat-cutting/processing business as in the making of fine cured meats?
  10:10am
Aunt Esther:

Fred Sanford, as I live and breathe!

Stand still so I can hit you with my purse.
  10:11am
north guinea hills:

I drunkingly picked up a Bronze 10" at a show a few months ago, and had no idea who they were (or any idea why i picked it up), or if Bronze was the name of the band or just the 10" title. Now I know. (Bronze is not very googlable and didn't bother to check myspace.)
  10:14am
Charcutero:

Cecile,

I am a Chef who really enjoys butchering, sausage making, and curing meats. I am currently working in the world of Seafood.
  10:16am
dc apt:

Has anyone ever seen Psychedelic HS and Times New Viking in the same room at the same time??
  10:17am
Cecile:

Nice! I had some blindingly great corned beef in CHI this week, and appreciate the sausage maker's art. nom nom nom.

Is the world of seafood tough? It seems to me that cooking fish is not very forviging...
  10:17am
Mark Williams:

dc apt - i have. they toured together in 2006, I think it was. saw them in baltimore. snotty little drunk kids, or so I thought at the time.
  10:18am
?:

any chance of getting the bronze 7" in the states?
  10:18am
dc apt:

ok Mark Williams, just checking, thanks...
  10:22am
BSI:

...come to think of it, I've never seen KING SNAKE ROOST and NEWT GINGRICH in the same room at the same time... I smell a conspiracy!
  10:23am
Charcutero:

I just made a batch of Pork Garlic Sausage yesterday. I even used local pork product (south jersey). Cooking fish becomes easier with repetition. I actually do most of my work with Crab.
  10:24am
dc apt:

"pork product" = funny.
  10:25am
dc apt:

this is perfect background music for my ethics and compliance training...
  10:31am
dc apt:

psychedelic horsecrap = funny too--that should be the group name.
  10:32am
dc apt:

why do I feel like I'm speaking to an empty room??
  10:32am
Charcutero:

L'Chaim!
  10:33am
NS Andy:

Really need a full translation from the Yiddish on this!
  10:35am
Cecile:

Nice, Charc. That sounds lovely.

Crab - you pretty much look at it, and it's cooked.

dc apt, can you link your thread to food?
  10:36am
dc apt:

sure! What's a good fake pork?
  10:37am
Charcutero:

This Muaic man song is fantastic. ha!
  10:38am
Cecile:

I've read about some folks who have done wonder with gluten "ribs".
  10:40am
dc apt:

yeah, you really gotta make the seitan yourself if you want a good fake pork product. But really, it's all in the sauce, fake or real.
  10:40am
annie:

just taking a roast out of the freezer for dinner tonight..
  10:42am
dc apt:

but we covered seitan last week. thanks to J-Mar..
  10:43am
Cecile:

But I missed it! ;D

I do have a place near me who makes a great mock duck.
  10:43am
annie:

i want chips right now... hhmm.. or a breakfast bagel..
  10:44am
Charcutero:

Annie, What kind of roast? I will be braising short ribs tonight to make Beef Short Rib Sloppy Joes! I made the sauce already, just have to stop on the way home for some soft Challah rolls!
  10:46am
Carmichael:

Good morning Bob and others. I didn't know the Monkees were so hep.
  10:46am
dc apt:

Miss Saigon in Georgetown has great fake duck...for all you DCers.
  10:48am
Cecile:

oh nom nom nom nom, charc

I am great at making the tastiest cheapo burger sloppy joes. You cannot use any quality products in it. I've had gourmets dig the last out my crock pot with a spoon.
  10:48am
annie:

some of the free meat i got from my grass-raised beef friend. he was cleaning his freezer for the next load, it's a top round roast, not sure how i want to cook it. usually i coat it with herbs and baste it as it cooks, but i might stew it.. still mulling it over..
  10:48am
BSI:

This particular DCer is getting stupidly hungry for some reason.
  10:48am
duck in DC:

And for great real duck in DC, try the duck chow foon at Eat First, in c-town. Friends and I had a bangin repast there this weekend.
  10:50am
dc apt:

BSI: me too...wonder where the closest fake duck product store its...
  10:51am
charcutero:

Annie, Its great weather for a stew!
  10:55am
Cecile:

I love duck chow fun so much.
  10:58am
annie:

yup, i have the potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion.. it's a toss-up as to whether i'll mashed the taters mashed or throw em in the stew.. mashed are great.. with loads of butter and garlic, but i'm low on butter.. arrghh decisions!
  11:00am
BSI:

Thai Phoon (north dupont, dc) - I had great crispy duck there about 10 times, but the 11th was wretched. Hoping that was just a freak duck occurrence. Of course with a couple of their saketinis, almost any damn thing would be great.
  11:01am
Carmichael:

Annie, let the crock pot do all the work.
  11:02am
dc apt:

can't fake duck and real duck just get along??
  11:04am
Cecile:

annie, you got good olive oil? That's good in mashed spuds.
  11:06am
dc apt:

wow, good idea Cecile, never tried that.
  11:06am
duck in DC:

You should try the duck at Thaitannic, the crunchy fried basil leaves that come with it are really a treat.
  11:08am
BSI:

absolutely, DC Duck.
Particularly 'cuz I work by Thaitanic no.1 and live by Thaitanic no.2.
....NO EXCUSE! I MUST HAVE DUCK!
  11:09am
dc apt:

the duck pond at the Zoo use to be really amazing. About 30 different species, all floating around right in front of you. The ruddy ducks are my fave. For some reason they're all gone now...
  11:11am
dc apt:

...probably ended up at Thaitanic no 1 or 2...
  11:11am
Cecile:

I have to go to a place called Thaitanic
  11:11am
Donald:

My God, they got Huey and Louie. Dewey's gone into hiding. Stay out of Chinatown, it's nothing but trouble down there.
  11:11am
Holden Caulfield:

Where do the ducks go in the winter?
  11:14am
BSI:

Caulfield: Into my mouth. All of them. It just has to be that way.
  11:15am
dc apt:

the only thing better than that Wounded Lion cover is this PRoA tune...
  11:16am
Donald:

We go to Orlando every year.
  11:17am
dc apt:

jeezus H Keerist!! I'm going to go out for lunch NOW. But it's going to be beans and rice for me.
  11:18am
annie:

only the best in my kitchen cecile.. but also running low on that.. sad to say i did not plan ahead for the fats usage this week.. although i did splurge and make a very simple celery soup in beef stock with red rice and it called for two T. butter. yum..
  11:19am
C:

does you prince cd come with faux fur?
  11:19am
Cecile:

You could use a combo of broth, oil and butter.

Or take Carm's advice...
  11:21am
Donald:

Give back to ducks, they give so much to you: www.duckhaven.org
  11:22am
dc apt:

just use duck juice.
  11:23am
annie:

i was saving the chunk of beef fat from the soup for isa's dish tonight.. maybe i'll split it in half; she IS getting the chicken leg later for her snack.. the leftover soup had sauteed kale added to it for lunch and there was a lovely layer of fat at the top..
  11:23am
C:

i like the taste of boiled muddleduck.
  11:24am
dc apt:

reminds me of a joke:

Guy: Are their any Chinese Jews?

Chinese waiter: No, no Chinese juice. Orange juice and tomato juice, no Chinese juice.
  11:26am
dc apt:

great show Bob W., thanks.
  11:31am
BSI:

trying to hold out 'till noon but I keep seeing thai crispy ducks dancing in a taunting cartoon ring around my head....
  11:33am
?:

am I hallucinating, or is it a palindromic (and binary) date today if you write January as '01'?

011110
  11:38am
doug from DC:

?, funny you should mention, I just noticed this myself. The number is 30 in binary.
  11:41am
Steve:

Bob, thanks for the great music every Monday! I'm glad you're not a fill-in.
  11:49am
dc apt:

hmmmm, beans and rice.

Can't decide whether Spider Bags is a great name or a perfect name. Deff great tune.
  11:51am
BSI:

in my opinion, it would go from Great name to PERFECT name if it were "spiderbags" ... w/o the character space. Just a thought.
  11:53am
dc apt:

Right you are BSI.
  11:55am
TC:

Spiderbags, spiderbags/Does whatever a spiderbags does.
  11:56am
Ike:

That Zola Jesus track was pretty awesome.
  11:57am
BSI:

  11:57am
TC:

  11:58am
paul:
