Bob, here's a link to a programme on the BBC tonight here in the UK all about Altamont. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00p6bnd
  10:11am Scott:

Martin Briley of Mandrake Paddlesteamer/Liverpool Echo lives in Manhattan now and writes mainstream pop hits for the likes of Celine Dion. Not my cup of tea, but he's very successful at it. I worked with him on a reissue project a few years ago and he seemed like a very nice guy. He seemed pleasantly surprised that I knew about his old bands. He also played bass in Ian Hunter's band during Hunter's "You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic" period.
  10:14am Scott:

Briley also had a minor MTV solo hit in the '80s, "The Salt in My Tears"
  10:17am annie:

i love this song!!!
  10:18am SmokinJ:

Love this version bb although the Blues Project's version is my fave..
  10:18am SmokinJ:

Bingo!
  10:19am Irene:

Hey Bob! Nice to be able to listen this morning (I'm usually working). Could you play something off the new Espers album? It might fit this set. I just saw them last night and really feel they're heirs to the Fairport Convention style. Espers also is playing in Brooklyn tonight and well worth seeing (you can tell I'm a fan!) Great music as always, Bob!
  10:21am SmokinJ:

Nice to hear your copy is as scratchy as mine:)
  10:37am Scott:

Long after his music career wound down, Bob Lind became an editor at the notorious and entertaining supermarket-checkout tabloid the Weekly World News, under the byline R. Neale Lind. Wonder if he's the guy behind Bat Boy!
  10:40am Scott:

The first Fairport album was reissued with bonus tracks a few years back in the U.K. It should be pretty easy to find, and can be ordered pretty cheaply directly from Amazon.co.uk and the like.
  10:43am SmokinJ:

Scott: You're a fountain of cool information.. Thanks..
10:47am bummer, i have to leave...:

see you all later, gators
  10:49am SmokinJ:

Adios!
