I've gone through 3 computers, starting with my '98 imac, then the newer imac then the emac with the bad video card on to my emac that the guy sold to me cheap because he felt bad about selling me the one with the bad video card. (wait is that 4?) I first started listening when you followed Fabio's show - back when I knew the name Stockhausen from the liner notes of Bitches Brew.
Be well Bethany, looking forward to your later musical projects.

You will be missed! I always recommend your show to people who want to hear really interesting stuff.

hola, bethany!
just checking your e-mail, and quite surprised by the news!.
your move seems as a continuum in something that has been happening around: in my case, many of my friends have moved, changed jobs, got married, or became parents - some of them, after thinking about it and planning it for a long time.
my best for you in this new step you're taking - hope to stay in touch, and happy to realize you'll be back on the air.
¡que te vaya super!
¡saludos desde chile!

Great, great music, B. Love all of this.... what was that lo-fi classic earlier with piano and drums???
  10:12pm
bartelby:

I agree with the guy requesting Nancarrow. I look in a lot of places to find music I would like but the sequence of events which culminated in my purchasing a Conlon Nancarrow CD was 100% attributable to Bethany

i will so miss the act of searching out the music i've heard weekly on your show. like the time you played the incredibly captivating janek schaefer 'extended play' piece. i looked up the disc immediately, saw what the album cover looked like, and the very next day i found a used copy at other music. prior to you playing it that disc would never have caught my attention. and while this isn't, hopefully not(!), the end of stochastic adventures, you can see see how much love you've given listeners and how appreciative everyone is because of it. thank you and already looking forward to your return to the air. x

A stochastic process is one whose behavior is non-deterministic in that a system's subsequent state is determined both by the process's predictable actions and by a random element. WE'll miss you, the random element is Bethany!
