Listener comments!

  6:04am
Chuck:

Morning Meg! Wow, you haven't started a show with some hillbilly stuff in a while. Nice!
  6:06am
Meghan:

Morning Chuck! Yeah, figured I would go back to the basics again!
  6:08am
jeff p:

good morning all! only which i could listen... these servers are loud!
  6:09am
minnie the moocha:

hi meg how bout johnny cash
  6:09am
Meghan:

Morning Jeff! Loud servers huh? The output here isn't loud, so it's gotta be your end!
  6:10am
Chuck:

Terrific! I've got a boxed set of the Monroe Bros. and some Ernest Tubb. Turn it up, Jeff P! You can't get this stuff too loud...
  6:11am
Meghan:

Morning Minnie! I don't have any Johnny doing a song about midnight! Amazing huh? You'd think I would have something! I am sure he has to have done something, just don't have it here with me! Sorry!
  6:25am
Chuck:

Well this one by Patsy was a MUST PLAY!
  6:25am
DBinNYC:

Morning Meg! Hope that stuff reached you last week...
  6:26am
Joshua K:

WFMU needs to invest in some dissinfectant. DJs keep gettin sick.
  6:27am
Chuck:

Ah, kids... Little buckets of disease...
  6:30am
Joshua K:

Everyone talking into the same disease infected mic.
  6:30am
Meghan:

Morning DB and Joshua! I got the stuff you sent DB, thanks!
And yes Josh, I wipe down the studio VERY WELL after my shows! Lysol ever surface I touch! And speak into as well!
  6:34am
Chuck:

Hum, I'd have thought you'd go with the live version of "Midnight Rambler". So many choices! You got the songs I sent last week, didn't you?
  6:37am
Meghan:

The live version is 9 minutes long.... so I figured go with the shorter version, so I can throw another song in! The list for midnight? or other? I been running around like crazy this past week with another wedding. Remind me again!
  6:38am
Chuck:

The school songs for next week. The Greyhounds and Graham Parker.
  6:39am
Joshua K:

There are to songs by The Jam with midnight right in the title. Did either make the cut?
  6:40am
Joshua K:

Well I guess in the midnight hour doesn't count as much. There are tons of covers of that. You could probably do a whole show with just that song.
  6:41am
Meghan:

I got them chuck! Looked in my inbox! And I do have both Jam songs, but unfortunately neither made the cut. One is a cover which there are a million versions of and the other wasn't, but just didn't make it.... I had to cut some stuff i didn't want to... it makes me sad. But on the upside, I have enough songs for another show!
  6:45am
Chuck:

Cool! Couldn't do a classic rock set without this song. Have you decided on a theme for after the Doctor show?
  6:48am
Meghan:

I have it down as a Pirate theme, since I think it's Talk like a Pirate day around there..... either that or a Sea theme...
  6:50am
DBinNYC:

AVAST!

http://www.talklikeapirate.com/
  6:51am
Chuck:

Hum, don't know how many Pirate oriented songs are out there... A Sea theme will probably give you more options...
  6:53am
Meghan:

hehe... exactly DB! Yeah we shall see Chuck... haven't pulled much yet for it, so that is why I have the other as a back up!
  6:54am
DBinNYC:

Music to Maraud by -
http://www.noquartergiven.net/music.htm
  6:55am
Chuck:

Yea!!! Gladys also a MUST play!
  6:56am
Meghan:

The last week of September is women's names as a theme....
  6:57am
Chuck:

Woah! You're gonna have decision overload for that one! Too many to choose from!
  6:59am
DBinNYC:

Some Pirate tracks - to kick start the brain

Ray Stevens - The Pirate Song
ELP - Pirates
Nina Hagen- Polution Pirates
  7:02am
DBinNYC:

  7:03am
Karen:

Clapton BORING ?????Also, what do you have against Jerry Garcia??
  7:05am
Meghan:

Just my taste! I don't have anything against Jerry, just the Dead! Never liked Clapton. I have tried, he just does nothing for me
  7:07am
DBinNYC:

  7:13am
Joshua K:

Gotta be something from the life aquatic soundtrack to fit in there: We Call Them Pirates Out Here - Mark Mothersbaugh
  7:15am
Chuck:

Blackbeard's Cha Cha http://www.amazon.com/Blackbeards-Cha/dp/B000QLDX98
  7:25am
David:

Midnight at the Oasis went to #6 in 1974. It was downright inescapable. MM did much better work, the old story.
  7:25am
Jeff:

Good morning all. Great show this morning, as usual.
  7:26am
Meghan:

Morning David and Jeff! Isn't it always the way where the worst song gets lots of airplay! I hated Radiohead for a long time because of the song Creep.
  7:27am
DBinNYC:

  7:31am
jeff p:

  7:31am
Joshua K:

Did somebody lock you in the server room?
  7:32am
Meghan:

Woohoo! Was saving the RAWK for you!
  7:33am
DBinNYC:

Otto's shrunken head used to host "Pirate-oake" nights where participants were encouraged to sing the songs in their best pirate dialect. Maybe they have some board recordings...
  7:34am
jeff p:

  7:35am
Meghan:

Oh my God that would be amazing! I would LOVE that! I will have to contact them to see if they do!
  7:37am

Typing sucks when your hand is as large as a grapefruit.... but this RAWKS! I loved the blues set, too..... and everything this morning.
  7:59am
Meghan:

Ummmm.... if swelling hasn't gone down, you need to go to doctor. I know you hate it, but bee stings aren't something to mess with.... right everyone?
  8:00am
jeff p:

lol wut?
  8:01am
Meghan:

Jeff got stung by a bee and his hand and arms are swollen....
  8:01am
Chuck:

True! You know what anapheletic shock is, Jeff. Take care of that!
  8:03am
Meghan:

Oh and Jeff P, I know what you mean about pleaded vs. pled. I had a boss that said the plural of shrimp is shrimps... which always sounded wrong to me as well! But dictionary says both are accepted...
  8:03am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Get thee to a doctor for thine sting of the bee. If you have a CVS near you they have these great "minute clinics" where you can get checked out right pronto and get the prescription you need in no time flat. If you must exercise only self-help, which I do not recommend, Benadryl is an antihistamine that may reduce the swelling and allergic reaction.
  8:03am
Jeff:

The reaction hasn't spread, the pain is gone, and the swelling can take days to go away. No fear of shock at this point..... I'm off to pop some more pills.
  8:04am
Meghan:

awwww poor thing.... as long as the pain is gone!
  8:08am
Jeff P:

the runaways! nice! hope you're feeling better, jeff. I pleaded to meghan to get some shrimps for you but she said no.
  8:10am
PKNY:

Will DJ Shadow's "Midnight in a Perfect World" be making an appearance this morning? *crosses fingers*
  8:12am
Meghan:

yeah that sentence sounds awful! Morning PKNY! You can uncross those fingers cause the DID make the cut!
  8:15am
Meghan:

favorite past tense word is Shat. Even better is that the Pogues use it in one of their songs- I been sat on and shat on and raped and abused....
  8:19am
Chuck:

Wonder where PG is this morning... ? and the Mysterians is one of his all time favorite bands...
  8:19am
Meghan:

I thought he would love this set too! wonder where he is as well!
  8:21am
Chuck:

Spoke to him last night and reminded him too... Though his dad passed away recently at the age of 94, so he's a bit out of sorts...
  8:22am
Meghan:

oh no! Send my love and condolences his way! That is sad
  8:22am
jeff p:

unfortunately, work beckons. another good show, meghan. bye everyone!
  8:23am
Chuck:

Will do...
  8:25am
Meghan:

Thanks Jeff P! Until next time!
  8:35am
Chuck:

It was inevitable, Nick had to make an appearence... hehe...
  8:36am
Meghan:

hehe.... of course! if it wasn't for him, the show wouldn't have existed!
  8:37am
Meghan:

I got it blasting here!
  8:39am
Chuck:
