ha..I snuck in.
  3:18pm Laura L:

This Fountains of Wayne song could be dedicated to the BRAND NEW Jim Flora published today! YES, people, TODAY--go ahead, spend a few dollars, it's a bargain! http://www.boingboing.net/2009/07/29/the-sweetly-diabolic.html
  3:18pm Amandazzled:

I have made an intricate mandala on the floor out of Pixy Stix powder, licorice whips, Swedish fish, cap rolls, matches and stolen change to summon her.
  3:23pm v k:

lrwin - like mold, u have grown on me - when i was new to wfmu, i steered clear -- now, i steer towards - keep up the good work
  3:24pm Chris:

I don't need a receiver. Amanda will find me.
  3:29pm Tim Serpas:

You can't stop the Power Child.
  3:33pm Amanda Fan Club:

  3:33pm GP:

  3:33pm jamesie:

Did you listen to my interview with the man on Outsider In?
  3:34pm Amanda Fan Club:

Note to guy in the picture - Be afraid be very afraid
  3:36pm another old man:

Gosh, love when she laughs the most.
  3:37pm connecting dots:

  3:37pm Marshall Stacks:

Guy in picture = R. Stevie M.?
  3:40pm Carmichael:

Hi Irwin, Amanda and others of the ilk. Yes, "ilk".
  3:40pm jamesie:

Ahh! Scary fishfinger - many more from where that came from! Best to you, James
  3:41pm Irwin:

Yeaz, dat R Stevie.
  3:42pm G:

Was driving during the first 1/2 hr of the show, trying not to drown, get hit by lightning, or slide into anything.

Parked now and posting approval of Amanda chronicles via that great 21st century invention the 2.8 lb. netbook, from the driver's seat of that 20th century innovation the auto. Transportation + Communication. Other selections going down well as well...
  3:44pm Ilk Marketing Board:

We asked "Got ilk?" yesterday during Joe's show. But after it was there for a while, the comment was missing/deleted later. Odd.
  3:49pm Comment Deletion Board:

All comment board overseers can control, but some board overseers are more controlling than others. Everyone's entitled to a personality!

For the most part we're here for the audio!
  3:50pm GP:

o.k. Irwin you are pitching a perfect show so far.
  3:56pm Carmichael:

Just checking back on the list to see who that dreamy folkie band was back there. The Clientele? Great stuff.
  3:59pm Jimmy Dean:

Dear Lord, this song is filthy!
  4:00pm Catching a Clue:

This is

  4:00pm Abe Froman:

Thats right..thats right
  4:01pm Janet H:

I'm enjoying the playlist, to bad I have to leave in 15min.
  4:02pm Jimmy Dean:

Hey, what about me? Why, my pork sausages are wonderful at breakfast time or, heck, just any old time!
  4:04pm Carmichael:

I loooove that adolescent growl ..........
  4:05pm Catching a Clue:

But is it big and hard like wood, Jimbo? Inquiring minds want to know. What I've seen with your name on it have been pretty scrawny dinky little sorry-excuse-for-a wieners
  4:06pm a guy in a chair in a cube:

Anyone know what that loop is behind cookieland? I cant place it and it will probably drive me crazy.
  4:06pm pfapfap:

Forgive my ignorance, but what are The Amanda Chronicles?
  4:06pm pfapfap:

Or should I say "what is"?
  4:07pm ?:

Dude, it's Honey Pie by the Beatles! (White Album)
  4:08pm Irwin:

loop: Wild Honey Pie by fab4
  4:08pm Chris:

So of course I get pulled away from my desk during Swinging in Cookieland. Thank Cthulu for the archive.
  4:09pm Miley C yrus:

The Chronicles are recently recorded Interview segments with that Amanda "singer" who does the Amanda songs that have been featured prominently on this show every single week since I got sent home :-(
  4:10pm pfapfap:

Ah, thanks! I'm a streamer, don't listen to any show regularly, and no podcasts from Irwin!
  4:12pm a guy in a chair in a cube:

Thanks. I was thinking Beatles but just couldn't quite scratch the itch.
  4:12pm Janet H:

Ok, I have to head out now....later!
  4:13pm Miley C.:

No one loves me any more! :'( Men are sooooooooooo fickle!!! :'(
  4:14pm Bill Shatner:

Dude, get out of that chair, out of that cube and...and...LIVE, DAMNIT!!!!
  4:14pm PMD:

  4:19pm Paul McEnery:

  4:19pm phillip2167:

  4:19pm facebook:

  4:19pm Bill Shatner:

Dodo Kitching? Mock Abalone? I love it! Thanks!
  4:19pm PMD:

The real facebook would never write that. IMPOSTER!
  4:20pm facebook:

also known as The Great Timesuck. our motto: wasting huge gobs of time since 2004.
  4:23pm ?:

'Effigy' is so sadly overlooked
  4:24pm BSI:

Amanda has more secrets, i betcha.
  4:24pm Amanda Fan Club:

phillip2167 - I think you are becoming one of us ...you secretly worship her - ink and all
  4:24pm Bill Shatner:

What's funny is R. Stevie Moore at the Amanda W-Burg hang! They're kindred spirits, I guess.
  4:24pm PMD:

I thought time was one big huge gob. So you can only waste a piece of it.
  4:26pm G:

An 8yo who made those recordings wouldn't grow up to be on the wild side?
  4:26pm Amanda Fan Club:

phillip - go to your room
  4:27pm John McCabe in LA:

I think I have it down to two women a could marry Amanda or Frangry I just have to pick one. I can't decide
  4:27pm Bill Shatner:

Ahem...isn't posting to this comment board similar to posting on Facebook?
  4:28pm Phillip's Just:

  4:28pm lebowski:

the dude loves CCR
  4:29pm Ike:

I prefer the Uncle Tupelo version. Although this is the first time I can remember hearing CCR and not wanting to vomit. Unfortunately I will always associate them with rural meathead idiots who used to listen to them in my hometown, and therefore can't enjoy them.
  4:29pm ?:

yes but Irwin reads this one
  4:29pm ?:

holy shit! when did George Russell die?
  4:32pm G:

George Allen Russell (June 23, 1923 - July 27, 2009)
  4:32pm BSI:

  4:33pm John McCabe in LA:

the math is really hard today
  4:34pm ?:

play cubana-be, cubana-bop, or electronic sonata for souls loved by nature . . .
  4:41pm Bill Shatner:

Cool! Thanks for playing these tracks. Sounds like if Lee Konitz and Eric Dolphy were scoring a cop-er/caper film in the 50s.
  4:43pm flatrich:

  4:44pm Laura L:

What a swell waltz--thanks, Irwin.
  4:44pm BSI:

Sorry to say I wasn't hip to George Russell until today ... big thanks, great stuff...
  4:46pm Todd 76%:

Thanks for playing this, Irwin! Just heard the news on your show, and was thinking that I'd have to go home and listen to "Jazz In The Space Age", one of several George Russell faves.
  4:53pm channeling Amanda:

listening, phil?
  4:58pm the anti-douche:

irwin, i love you!
  4:59pm ....:

p4u was written for philip..pee on philip's head

  4:59pm the anti-douche:

  5:00pm PMD:

Oops, Cookie cookie
  5:01pm BSI:

Amanda moved up to the next level of godhead with the panning action in Cookie Santa... I'll give it thirty stars out of five.
  5:02pm BSI:

sorry, that shoulda been "goddesshead," yeh?
  5:04pm Dr Phil:

do you have to mess with my name, dude?

diggin amanda, she is the real deal!
  5:04pm ?:

Amanda provokes strong reactions in some people. That's why I recommend a higher dosage for Philip before listening. It might make Amanda's music "go down easier".
  5:05pm Marshall Stacks:

Santa Cruz in the house!
  5:05pm NYC:

and we wonder why california is a worse mess than we are.
  5:05pm Oprah:

5:07pm B in The Mission, SF:

True....true...so funny.
  5:07pm north guinea hills:

what the murphy was that rant about?
  5:08pm pfapfap:

We're not all like that out here! Most of us know that vegetables grow in the boxes left on the front porches of hippies, duh.
  5:08pm huge:

Hey! Marshall Stacks!!! The next big thing....
  5:09pm timotato:

That was precious! Miss South Carolina has a runner up.

  5:14pm Bill Shatner:

What ever happened to Michelle from I.M.? Is she still doing radio? Anyone know?
  5:16pm PMD:

  5:23pm gumby:

Amanda cooks sushi!
  5:24pm gumby:

Cooked sushi makes me mad.
  5:24pm GP:

Billy Idol is worthy of backing Amanda.

She has a boyfriend? : ( <sniff>
  5:26pm Ike:

Amanda is a chowhound, eh? Who'd've thunk it? I hope she got a chance to check out Sripraphai or Wondee Siam while she was in NYC.
  5:27pm the anti-douche:

irwin forever!
  5:29pm ?:

wow, I never heard Fountains of Wayne before. They totally suck.
  5:45pm Dirtie Hippiez:

Man, totaly blow our minds and like play some Joanna Newsom..like that Amy Annelle kinda sounds like her, man.
  5:51pm Bill Shatner:

This sounds like Luie Luie's backing band!
  5:52pm the anti-douche:

  5:58pm GP:

Thanks Irwin
  11:34pm flat head S:

greetings from 2 light years away.... Amanda II show has taken 2 days to reach this side of planet Earth. Me like very much
  12:52am Robert:

So now 2 yrs. later I went to these archives of shows that aired during a period I couldn't get WFMU. For the past year I'd assumed Amanda had just been a kid whose voice cracked involuntarily during a certain period and whose brother took advantage during that time. Now that I've listened to the Amanda Chronicles and samples jerserf's YouTubes, I see the truth is much more disturbing. It's as if Jandek had gotten started in childhood and had been keeping it up since then, with no end in sight.
