  7:04pm Vicki:

  7:04pm wrldfms:

  7:05pm fishmonkeystew:

It's my birthday and my wife asked me what I wanted to do. This is on the list.
  7:05pm Vicki:

Happy Birthday!
  7:07pm wrldfms:

Nice choice, fishmonkeystew!
  7:09pm Vicki:

cheers all - raising a glass of... chardonnay
  7:10pm mark:

"nice choice fish monkey stew" sounds wrong. it should be like one animal per stew. like one animal at most.
  7:11pm Phil R:

I just love yodeling!
  7:12pm wrldfms:

if you can wrap bacon around chicken, i'm thinking you can season fish with a little monkey.
  7:12pm Vicki:

well we'll have a nice yodel lesson in a sec
  7:13pm Phil R:

Carmen too
  7:13pm wrldfms:

Or it could just be a kind of monkey. Look at that monkey. Which monkey? The fishmonkey. Mmmm. Let's make some stew.
  7:14pm Vicki:

this is music for driving a broken car to
  7:15pm Phil R:

  7:15pm mark:

this is true. monkeys are variegated and weird anyway.

  7:16pm alex:

a yodel instructional record! Ace
  7:16pm texas scott:

wow...what other fmu show is gonna give us yodeling instruction?
nice avant-tard
  7:16pm Vicki:

wwwhat autotune?
  7:19pm wrldfms:

MP3J! - Haha. I hadn't heard this one from him yet. Very cool.
  7:19pm Vicki:

yes! been finding a lot of good new mashups by way of twitter
  7:20pm Charles:

Hi Vicki!
  7:21pm wrldfms:

Is MP3J on Twitter?
  7:21pm Vicki:

oh I don't know if they are, but I mean thru following links on twitter

hi Charles!
  7:22pm Charles:

Did you know there was a funny numerical event today? This afternoon it was 12:34:56 07/08/09. At least in the US. For other places this stupid moment will happen next month on the 7th. Anyway, back to the live playlist!
  7:22pm phill:

totally cheered-up now! wunderbar! :o)
  7:23pm wrldfms:

Ah, that's what I figured. :) -- This show is awesome today. I'm loving it.
  7:23pm Vicki:

there's nothing like yodel
and this is nothing like yodel
  7:23pm Ringo:

Was that for my 69th birthday yesterday? Ta, dear.
  7:24pm Vicki:

yes I noticed the 123456789 time phenonemon... er about 5 hours after.
and yes! Ringo too! Can we take the excitement?
  7:25pm listener jon:

please play una paloma blanca! one of my favorites!
  7:26pm Chris Campbell:

Cheers, Vicki. Loving the show so far.
  7:26pm wrldfms:

I have no idea what una paloma is.
  7:27pm Vicki:

oh I will try and remember Paloma Blanca for next week! Oh oh summer in Benidorm. It is a bit of a British trash thing I guess.

Thanks for all piping in, all! Really nice.
  7:29pm Vicki:

  7:30pm texas scott:

this satellite of love is terrif!
  7:31pm Vicki:

if anyone else has any autotune classics from youtube or otherwise please let me know

yes, this song cover is SO good - their voices are perfect.
  7:31pm Phil R:

I've never done karioke (sp?), but Satellite of Love just might be fun...
  7:31pm wrldfms:

"I like to watch things on TV" - one of my favorite most mundane lyrics ever. :)
  7:31pm Vicki:

I did Bohemian Rhapsody with Pseu Braun once. Of course we were fantastic.
  7:32pm wrldfms:

Have you seen/heard auto-tune the news?
  7:32pm Phil R:

I always like old Talking Heads for odd lyrics as well
  7:33pm texas scott:

hey vicki,is that duet on the archives?
please say yes.
  7:33pm mark:

i saw pseu out-bangle a bangles song kareoke style. it was breathtaking.
  7:34pm Vicki:

I played autotune the news last week

no we did the duet in chinatown, ny - our main audience was a shaven headed midget, punching the air
  7:34pm wrldfms:

Not as perfectly mundane as "Maybe if I were with you, we would go shopping" from the Pet Shop Boys, but yeah Talking Heads too! :)
  7:35pm texas scott:

what a scene that must have been...

loving this MMM!
  7:36pm Vicki:

about 15 WFMU DJs went to karaoke, was fantastic. Was a while back now. A few of us karaoked on Pseu's show though - you can find that on Pseu's archives.
  7:36pm paul:

aww, i was all getting ready to rock out to the rank sinatra version. this one has the same backing track!
  7:37pm Vicki:

you will not be disappointed
  7:37pm paul:

oh there's rank now. yay!!!!!!
  7:38pm Vicki:

pure joy
  7:38pm texas scott:

  7:38pm paul:

bob w played the literal video version last time he did a fill-in, i don't know if you've heard/seen that one
  7:38pm wrldfms:

Haha. The gothic change up has my cubicle neighbors looking at me crazy.
  7:39pm Phil R:

Vicki - We LOVE You SO
  7:39pm Doug in Canada:

  7:39pm Vicki:

Paul, if you know the link please could you email it to me? Link to email at the bottom of this page.
  7:41pm Doug in Canada:

He should take a big drag on his puffer.
  7:42pm Take On Me:

first time i've heard that song without being cheesed out since it was a few weeks into MTV saturation rotation over a quarter century ago...
  7:44pm Vicki:

I was just saying myself it's one of those songs that makes you feel a bit odd because of the age one was
funny these things all have partly stood the test of time because of releasing the "dub" versions of the albums (Love and Dancing)
  7:44pm Copydex Von Wales:

This is even more stunning than the teen spirit one. Wow - there's a story about Rick Astley, isn't there?
  7:45pm Vicki:

ah you tuned in at a good time!
  7:46pm wrldfms:

I want to hear Rank Sinatra sing Rick Astley. ;)
  7:46pm Copydex Von Wales:

Is it tea time?
  7:46pm Copydex Von Wales:

Is it tea time?
  7:46pm Vicki:

  7:47pm Phil R:

  7:48pm texas scott:

  7:50pm wrldfms:

  7:53pm Vicki:

  7:53pm Doug in Canada:

  7:54pm Doug in Canada:

The aforementioned plinth, in fact.
  7:54pm texas scott:

i will look forward to your next foray...
  7:55pm Doug in Canada:

It's what .... just about 1 AM over there?
  7:55pm Phil R:

Dick Higgins -sounds like 'The Holy Grail' - remixed (to me anyway)
  7:55pm Copydex Von Wales:

Is the plinth watchable online? Is it gormless, or what?
  7:55pm Vicki:

oh you people! yes it's the middle of the night and I'm typing, yes.
  7:56pm Vicki:

yes, just before 1am in London. We are near the PLINTH.
  7:56pm Doug in Canada:

It's quite lovely online ... better than in person. Full of gorm ... but I don't know what gorrm is ...
  7:56pm Copydex Von Wales:

It's freakin tea time 'over here'. All the time.
  7:57pm Vicki:

you don't know what a bollard is either, do you Doug
  7:58pm Vicki:

the plinth certainly confirms my views of public art being best kept behind closed doors but it's certainly worth going to stare at every now and then!
  7:59pm MrFab:

re: Auto-Tuned news, did you see the ones i posted here?
  7:59pm Copydex Von Wales:

In my ever-lasting quest for the perfect rock sobriquet, my favourite, never-used was 'Jet Bollard'. Maybe it's time...
  7:59pm okay vicki:

what's a bollard?
is it something to eat?
  8:00pm Jet Bollard:

Have you gone and stared at the plinth, then?
  8:00pm Phil R:

Thanks Vicki!
