A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

The lady who feeds me is a witch. Sometimes she uses me as her familiar and gives me treats for spotting ghosts lurking around.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:15am philthy:

  Thu. 5/21/09 9:15am fishmonkeystew:

  Thu. 5/21/09 9:22am listener mark:

Woke up, turned on the radio, a witch is casting spells. Yes indeed, that's WMFU. Good morning DJ Trouble. Good morning modern world.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:23am Parq:

What T-Scott said. After the frenzy and extravagance of the Wed daytime line-up, there's something just so right about the quiet excellence of TMWwT.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:25am George Eliot:

perfect phrasing, parq,
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:29am RickL:

Hey... the 128k mp3 stream has lost its right channel. It's keeping me from being fully immersed in Trouble.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:30am listener mark:

Meghan McKee held down the overnight Wednesday morn, I sat up and listened, 2AM to 6AM. Nice stuff. Missed Ken's show, something about his colonoscopy.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:31am Parq:

Rick, try the other one. On the stream page, there are two, the M3U and the PLS.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:31am still b/p:

We'll clean your moat, Trouble, and be your koi.
BTW, splashed up a little lingua freaka...pursuing more entertaining/riling detail on that amazing moat miscreant and wider money ruckus, saw this Sun story tease: "Gordon Brown’s astonishing boob as he signals Tories will win the next election." The PM's a page 3 girl?
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:31am trouble:

was the right channel out for the style council only???cuz that was a turntable prob
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:32am fishmonkeystew:

I love the Sun Ra Singles collection. Juicy.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:33am listener mark:

turntable 2? Oh wretched turntable 2, why must you torment us!
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:33am RickLo:

Well, it seems back up -- but the 32k stream had the channel intact on the style council.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:34am texas scott:

I'm with you Fishmonkey.
  Thu. 5/21/09 9:36am Listener Stu:

  Thu. 5/21/09 9:47am barrianne:

Love anything Brazilian! pronunciation tip: os brazoes = oose (like loose) bra-ZOYNS which means as far as I can tell, the big embers (maybe!)

I was at work yesterday and a coworker had 'lorelei' on her computer. I screamed, omigod you're listening to Trouble! We've both listened to you for yyears and years. If you ever need Brazilian tips lemme know. I've sent some things over to Ken. Beleza!

cecile, it's nice to see you. you've been on my mind, hope you're bouncing back easily.
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:04am J-Mar:

Agreed on the Electrelane song -- I hadn't heard anything by 'em since their first record, and now I'm inclined to catch up with anything else they've done.
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:05am Cecile:

aw, georgie, I've been thinking about you, too.
I am bouncing back as easily as these things go.

And work is not anywhere near as chaotic as I feared. i shouldn't fear anything, I have really good co workers.
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:06am barrianne:

Trouble! That was perfect! Perfeito! Beleza.

speaking of wind-horses, i am going to be able to participate in a tibetan ritual this weekend. replacing prayer-flags sunday... i'm excited!!
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:21am listener mark:

I call this song the sound track of Ken Freedman's colonoscopy.
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:25am Devin:

That Tibetian ritual chant inspired me to start my spring juice fast next week. Better start weening off of the caffiene.... oh geez...
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:26am George Eliot:

spirituality can be a drag!!
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:35am barrianne:

Happy! this is really waking me up, thanks Trouble. I need help to get my butt out the door and on my bike to ride to work.
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:35am Cecile:

Trouble, could you slide in some Ann Peebles?
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:37am Parq:

This great Queenie track prompts me to ask, was anyone else at School of Rock last night?
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:41am Cecile:

yay! Tony! But, aw, then that means your show is over...
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:42am Cecile:

  Thu. 5/21/09 10:42am George Eliot:

  Thu. 5/21/09 10:51am Cecile:

But that never works with me, either. LOL!
  Thu. 5/21/09 10:53am Blather Goose:

"Annie, Annie, devoted fan(nie), why is your gardenin' slow?"

Thu. 5/21/09 11:45am Adrian in London:

Moat update: Tory MP Sir Peter Viggens forced to step down after claiming £1,600 of expenses on a duck island (the Palace of Versailles of bid boxes) for said fowl. I know I'm being screwed out of my taxes but I almost admire his chutzpah.
  Thu. 5/21/09 11:50am George Eliot:

trouble, i came in from the porch (volume loud) to tell you how much i love your show. joe says my cd is on the way! yay! (i also realized that i am sitting right under a nest of eggs carefully tended. )
  Thu. 5/21/09 11:52am trouble:

thank you that is so very sweet, george elliot!
  Thu. 5/21/09 11:53am trouble:

adrian, it is SOO hard to get good help! who will tend the ducks and the moat?
  Thu. 5/21/09 11:55am sugarwolf:

I wish my Congressman had a moat.
  Thu. 5/21/09 11:57am Parq:

Adrian, you are lucky. At least the idea of a moat and ducks is pastoral and classical-sounding. A similar scandal in the US would have involved an aluminum ("auminium" if you prefer) and fiberglass deck tricked out as a replica of the "Goofy's Hot Dog Wagon" pavilion at Diz World.
  Mon. 5/25/09 1:51pm Barry:

Trouble - I know you watch little TV, but did you see John Oliver defending the cleaning of moats at public expense (on the Daily Report) by reminding us that moats are full of hepatitis, goose shit and used condoms. Great stuff - there'll always be an England
