Listener comments!

  10:05pm risky!:

Evening Bethany! Diggn the tones.
  10:06pm texas scott:

Look around. See if there is anything worth pointing out. Sure, talking about the weather is a cliche, but if there's something unusual about it--shablam!--you've got a great topic of conversation.
  10:09pm Steve:

Hey there...

Are there spelling problems with the album name!?
  10:09pm risky!:

GET DOWN!!!!!!!!!!! OWWW!
  10:10pm drew in carroll gardens:

how are you? still pretty tired from the all-night "oh no, it's only indian classical music, but i like it, like it, yes i do" concert.....
  10:15pm Tom:

Love ya show always Tom In Gravesend Brooklyn Near the "N"Train
  10:17pm Steve:

Give it up for Bethany for pronouncing the album and label
  10:19pm bethany:

Welcome all! Random question: what's your favorite beverage to go along with the show?
  10:22pm ?:

Coffee! It's 3.18 in the morning here, so coffee's works well with it.
  10:22pm Steve:

Water and tablet of mescaline
  10:23pm G:

Coffee or tea if I know I'll be working late (say, till 2 or 3 am). I'm in the show's home timezone fwiw

Any number of things otherwise...
  10:24pm Tom:

I prefer ABSOLUT and Cranberry Juice Bethany - not that I'm encouraging those that have to wake up at 6am to have that but I work odd hours and it feels just right now !
  10:25pm drew in carroll gardens:

tea and or water
  10:27pm Mike:

Final fantasy 3! :D
  10:29pm Tom:

The color of the Cranberry juice and the ABSOLUT now is so pretty along with the tunes and the atmosphere right now loving it !!!!
  10:30pm drew in carroll gardens:

i heartily concur...reverse rules! favorite things thus far...
  10:30pm bethany:

Ooh! We should think up a special "Hit Parade" cocktail recipe...an appropriate mixture of things sweet, jagged, refreshing, intoxicating and delirium-inducing. Take a shot!
  10:33pm bethany:

Uh, Drew - how come you're not at The Stone?? I'd be there if I could!
  10:33pm Jimi Hendrix:

Then maybe you could spare 2 minutes 51 seconds to play Castles Made of Sand ... C'mon Beth
  10:35pm The Haze:

I am *not* purple, dude. I'm Fuschia.
  10:35pm Tom:

your show is all the above Bethany :) < Big smile !!! but sweet you are for sure that's the biggie ...
  10:37pm christopopopher:

hey i actually remembered to listen to this show BEFORE 11:59:59
  10:42pm drew in carroll gardens:

too bloody tired! got to rest up for this week @VV
  10:42pm Tom:

Bethany you are the ultimate in weekends end I only wish you had the 3 hours instead of the 2 now of cause
  10:43pm bethany:

aw shucks. I DO want some cocktail ideas...next week I'll bring the ingredients for a couple of them and we can decide what works the best. It'll be one of those "play along at home" types of things...
  10:44pm ranjit:

stochastic cocktail - close your eyes and grab two bottles!
  10:46pm Tom:

yes next week of cause but the ABSOLUT and cranberry sure looks real pretty in the tall glass right now
  10:51pm Tom:

but Cocktail hmm I am thinking more blood orange gin and maybe a touch of bourbon? nah
  10:53pm Tom:

Bethany Stockastic hit Parade Full Moon here too < Big Smile :)
  10:56pm Jonathan:

Does anyone else think that "Ffffoo k Tsscch" is the sound that a rocket makes?
  10:56pm drew in carroll gardens:

heard "coward" yet? i wish i'd known sooner that he'd be there....oh, still no word from customs yet, btw....
  10:59pm Steve:

A nice warm 40 oz bottle of Colt 45 -- luv ya
  11:00pm a hit parade:

tequela and milk with some mint
  11:00pm another tom:

whiskey and lemonade as we speak. amazing tunes!
  11:00pm Steve:

For Bethany -- wouldn't a pale pink champagne on crushed ice be right
  11:01pm Ike:

My favorite beverage to go along with the show might be strong ginger beer, so maybe that could mix with something in a cocktail. (Not the usual crappy weak ginger ale, but serious ginger *beer*, like Maine Root.)
  11:02pm drew in carroll gardens:

that is a mouthful! don't drink...sorry i can't help with this....
  11:02pm dale:

a slighty bitter-er amaretto perhaps?
  11:04pm Tom:

Bethany a sweet one and hug and a kiss too
  11:06pm buckingham (drinking light brew):

porridge w/ clown tears -- (for orphans)
  11:08pm numberK:

I'm usually listening when I've got a lot of work to do before tomorrow afternoon, so to me it will always be black coffee with the Stochastic Hit Parade. Dunno if that really helps you that much unless we're talking Irish Coffee, which I don't really think is that appropriate for some reason. Gotta say I like the ginger beer idea.
  11:11pm e:

peter brotzmann sounded amazing. what's this about cocktail ideas?
  11:13pm Steve:

Uh-oh, I'm losing my balance
  11:15pm bethany:

Ginger beer is a good idea - some kind of variation on a "Dark & Stormy" (ginger beer and dark rum).

Brotzman? In town? I'm confused...

With cocktails, I'm seeking recipies for a new drink called the "Hit Parade." Will try them out next week....
  11:22pm ranjit:

how about gin, ginger beer, and a slice of that pink ginger they put in sushi platters.
  11:33pm bethany:

That makes me think of some amazing ginger-infused vodka I had at the Russian Samovar in midtown. They use fresh, raw ginger and it totally set me on fire. (In a good way). Steering clear of bad "Asian-Fusion" Happy Hour drinks, maybe there's something with that??
  11:39pm drew in carroll gardens:

BA--right on!
  11:40pm jean:

how about a shot of a bitter, molassy scotch, dropped inside a pint of ginger beer?
  11:56pm drew in carroll gardens:

great show, kiddo!
  11:57pm Stepham:

pop rocks, diet coke, mentos, wasabi (forget ginger), vodka, w/ wheat grass chaser
  12:01am G.:

The legal ID is a tongue twister now, woohoo!!!!
  5:01pm Erik:

Glad to see you played "Fact, Fancy, Legend." Thanks! By the way, there's no backwards guitar on there. I don't quite remember how I did it, but it involved fast-forwarding an old recording on my Sony Discman, so it skipped through the track, then re-recording that. Or else it was the volume pedal; I don't remember which. I hope that doesn't ruin it for you!
