Listener comments!

  9:05am
JJZ:

Hm... Made it or not? The picture on the webpage seems to indicate not.
  9:06am
JJZ:

Oh, hey, there's text on webpages too. Never mind.
  9:12am
Listener Dave:

Losing 6 hours to the JM in the AM tragedy, one hour to Daylight Saving and being off the NJ FM signal for an hour during Jonesy yesterday killed any chance of making it.

Condolences to Nachum Segal and on behalf of the listeners, sorry we couldn't do better.
  9:12am
liz:

super roots 9 on a monday morning? this is why you received one of my pledges last week liz. although, when looking at the map, i was disappointed to be the only person from youngstown ohio to donate to the cause. this town does kind of suck, and now we have documented proof.
  9:16am
Liz B.:

Thanks everyone for pledging! The Marathon was an incredible success despite all of the unfortunate happenings of the past 2 weeks. It just goes to show that WFMU has an amazingly supportive listenership, and we are all eternally grateful for that!
  9:17am
trent:

this song is tripadelic!!
  9:20am
Liz B.:

I'm using my Marathon hangover as an excuse to play this Boredoms track. It's fantastic, but I normally don't have the attention span to handle it!
  9:29am
john:

damn this song is good!
  9:30am
paj:

go berg
  9:31am
Alex:

this is reminding me of summer, the drum circle event in dumbo
  9:31am
Parq:

Holy cow, this is live?
  9:32am
ike:

This is great....where'd you find this?
  9:34am
~L:

Good Morning Liz!
Happy Morning After!
  9:35am
Liz B.:

This was recorded live on x-mas eve 2004, just googled for the actual song title, found out the choir is 24 people... epic!
  9:39am
Alex:

epic indeed, right into x-mas day!
  9:40am
Andy in Berlin:

Epic is right! BTW, was the Hoof and Mouth videoed? Won't we have a chance to see it this year?
  9:41am
Liz B.:

Hoof and Mouth videos will arrive soon. We'll post 'em on the blog, so keep your eyes peeled over the next few days.
  9:46am
Dickdong (UK):

Bloody Hell you've started without me! Clocks don't change here for a couple of weeks.
  9:46am
bwalker:

looong tracks in the 9 am hour! off to a great start LIZ!
you well rested?
  9:47am
Andy in Berlin:

can't be soon enough for me!

Great Monks cover , Liz - seemed rhythmically very similar to the Women Love Appliances from last year. Guess you're a sucker for that beat!
  9:50am
Liz B.:

Ha ha, well rested?! You silly man. Thanks for the H&M love, the band sounded great, and our talented DJs never cease to amaze me. I'm a sucker for songs that don't require much "singing," hence my song choices over the past few years. Perhaps I'm tone deaf!
  9:52am
Andy in Berlin:

you and a lot of other people it would seem <g>
Not that I'm complaining...
  10:13am
bwalker:

this is the best track on the flashback cd! I think the Korean and the English are the same refrain - Laaaaasssstttt night I don't remember my dreams! great show Liz
  10:17am
HotRod:

Love you, Liz!!! :)
  10:19am
mark:

do you pay royalties on webcasts?
sorry about the marathon, i assumed you always reached the target like on blue peter, ill donate abit more when i get paid.
  10:22am
Listener Dave:

Hey there's a question...is there a chance that enough post-marathon donations could come in this week to hit the goal?

Sorry for obsessing on this, but I'm kinda bummed out about it.
  10:25am
Liz B.:

Hi Mark, yes, we most certainly pay royalties on our webcasts. We certainly got very close to our Marathon goal, and we're extremely happy and gracious to our listeners for helping us get so close. The final 2 days of JM in the AM were cancelled due to a tragic death in Nachum's family, the power went out at our transmitter twice (!), and yet we still managed to get very close to the goal. Post-marathon pledges will bump up the numbers a bit, and there is still a possibility that JM in the AM might do some fundraising after things have calmed down.
  10:33am
-max-:

Many thanks for the great job done by all involved - deejays, listeners, and volunteers. I couldn't stay for the last Hoof 'n Mouth set, but it was a glorious night, and a real blast! Ended up coming into work an hour late anyway, so take THAT, Daylight Savings Time!
  10:41am
Scott M.:
