Labor of Love with Katie Gentile

Hear this show now: Pop-up listen Pop-up player! | Add or read comments

Rob Weisberg and Katie Gentile (Rob's sidekick, psychologist, academic, author, and violinist in the band Special Pillow) play "radio ping-pong", alternating tracks: Rob went first, with Yol Aularong:; then Katie selected a track by Able Tasmens, then Rob played Manu Chao and so on.

This was the seventh annual installment of Labor of Love - and still no fisticuffs! Although there's a fair bit of aggression in the music: The theme this year is rock and rock hybrids from around the world.

Listener comments!

  8:29pm will:

Hey Rob -- Yer really blowing my mind tonight with some of these rock things, Spanish Tide by Family has always been a personal favorite. Ed Kuepper clinched the deal. Great flow all along too, thanks WJ
  8:46pm Cort:

Man, this is a good show! Hats off to Katie too for her picks. I'll be going to the archives for this one.
  10:39pm art:

Wotta show! The back and forth was great. Never in my life have I liked a song so much on the first hearing as I did "Sour Queen." Katie should have her own show - she could be the heir to great Hova!
