Listener comments!

  12:54am Aaron:

Tonight's set was excellent and Mike Lupica is one of the many reasons I give money to WFMU.
  10:04am Mike Lupica:

Thanks, Aaron! That's very nice of you, and I'm glad you liked the show. I plowed into this program anticipating disastrous results, but I had a great time.
  10:06pm Kali:

Excellent playlist, diggin all the pictures! Now I want to listen to the show. WMFU knows how to do this shit right
  12:13pm echardcore:

sick, twisted, and dope
  1:37pm Andrea:

Mike, I listen to this show every week, but more than anything, I love the photos - I wish other DJ on WFMU would do the same (names ain't the same...)
  5:33pm jeff:

props for p.e.d., jesters of destiny & the unknown instructors tunes...

i guess it's not all nostalgia trippin' when ya' mix in some newness...

cheers!
  10:37am Mike Lupica:

Thanks Andrea and Kali. I like adding the pix because I hope it makes these weekly playlist pages more akin to an MP3 blog -- combined with the timestamps, it's a simple way to instantly check out lots of new sounds. And coupled with WFMU's search page http://wfmu.org/searchadv.php , it's also a way to quickly look up old faves and have them chugging into your headphones in seconds!
  5:55pm John:

Thanks for doing whatcha do... Many good songs and nothing wrong with "old" ones -- good to hear them.
What's the instrumental bed you talk over after Palomar, before Rock-a-Teens? (Hey, Schulkind always lists HIS talkover music!)
  6:12pm Mike Lupica:

Hey John, the song in question is Pell Mell, from their totally great "Star City" album. Actually, *all* Pell Mell records are totally great. And hey, Schulkind plays longer songs than I do! He also aced WFMU's speed-typing workshop, whereas I got put out to pasture with Belock and John Allen...
  6:28pm Doug Schulkind:

C'mon Mikey, give the people what the want. I've been listing my talkover music since 1977! Of course, my trained ferret, Rolph, does all my typing. Come to think of it, he's been programming my show (and answering my emails) for the past coupla years.
  7:41pm jeff:

>>nothing wrong with "old" ones<<

i didn't mean this in the perjurative... just the slippery slope of nostaligia's melancholy... next thing you know i'm dreaming about being behind the wheel of my '78 nova during those halcyon days of the 80's...

then again...
Preserving the old ways from being abused
Protecting the new ways for me and for you
  8:14am mike lupica:

Doug, I've got Rolph here in my kitchen. He is--at present--unharmed. If you ever want to see him doing your dirty work again, meet me at the 23rd St. PATH station (northbound platform) tonight at 11 PM. We'll "talk".
  9:26am Doug Schulkind:

I thought my bed seemed a bit chilly last night. Come home Rolphie boy!
  10:28pm Dgo. Colorado:

We like Mike...always look forward to the sets and the great pics!!!
  10:57pm Jude Webre:

The Alice Cooper was a revelation! Great playlist, and pretty solid on the karaoke too.
  9:19am Lupica:

Thank you for the vote of confidence on the karaoke. Ahhh, the socially lubricating powers of alcohol...
