Back when I was a mid-teen in the mid 70s, listening to prog, then krautrock, space music, free jazz, minimalism, ambient... etc... My brain was more or less hardwired to the length of an album side. "No Pussyfooting" was like a 7" hit single for me! So tonight's modus is like going home.

Was supposed to go to a performance party/theatrical happening in Paris underground canals and tunnels about ten years ago, but terrorist attacks in months preceding the event led to change of location to a city mansion. Sort of 18th century house of horrors, insane asylum and masked carnival themes. I understood the caution, but the big ol' fancy house just couldn't be as dramatic and unusual as the anticipated subterranean adventure. Sewer magic eluded me.

I remember it being on in reruns in the morning in the 60s, but can't recall anything from any viewing of it back then other than Brennan smiling in the opening credits. However, there's a channel that shows Real McCoys, and while I haven't seen it there, while I've been watching something else they show endless repetitive promos for the show with clips of Grampa, and it all looks like the weakest wearying sort of twaddle TV, without even the period flavor being able to bump it up to a half degree of entertainment. Evidently, I'M the cranky Grampa!
