I think a good deal of it is we are smaller and perhaps a more self contained environment. The sheer size of the US would make that 'cosy' factor perhaps less viable. Size matters etc 😁 although I think the changing world negates those differences now.

Caught Sloppy Heads at Canada gallery on Saturday! First time seeing them and they were great! They did some fantastic covers, including an Ed Askew song as well as a lengthy space jam which launched me into orbit.

I went to a reading by David Meltzer, the leader of Serpent Power at Beyond Baroque in Venice. He was the link between the beatniks and hippies in San Francisco. People were asking him all kinds of beat poetry questions, then I asked him about Serpent Power. I hit the jack pot! From that point forward, that's all he wanted to talk about.

Way to go, Franco! I'm all for beat poetry but rather hear him talk about Serpent Power too. That band name is so out of place for the time. It's a great name too.
