Morning Brian and all. Popping on cos I barely slept last night and I’m tuning in earlier than usual.
Been laying on the couch reflecting on the influence ABC No Rio had on me over the years. I’m incredibly grateful for, the director, Steven Englander’s whose stewardship maintained that counter-institution. It was exemplary of DIY, cooperation, community and culture.
Sadly he passed last December

We're doing good. She has to wear a neck brace for the next 6 weeks. Luckily, my workplace allowed me up to 3 months off for FLMA. She's a little better day by day. She gets her bandage off today!!

Actually, I rermrember the president of Davidson while I was there and a couple of years after well, and not fondly. He was responsible for taking the college station WDAV, which had been student-run and free-form for years, away from the students and turned iti into an all-classical (but nothing remotely challenging please!) fund-raising instrument for the college. This happened the year after I graduation but many of my good friends were affected by it.
