Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from May 16, 2025 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

That's the problem when people speak chronologically like that. A common question is what you'd want to ask some long-dead historic person now, and my stock answer, if people thought about it, would be far more important than any of their historic questions: "What was it like to be dead?"

Just saw the doc on Kathleen Hanna last night, and a moment before they told us the cause of her difficult, persistent-for-years and worsening physical symptoms, I guessed Lyme disease. She'd had it undiagnosed for years. DO NOT WANT!
