A roadmap that reveals the highways, byways, ley lines and subterranean tunnels connecting rock, soul, pop, folk rock, R&B, garage, punk, funk, jazz, world music, and soundtracks from the twilight of the 1950s to the dawn of the 1970s. Larry Grogan is a DJ, writer, podcaster, collector, and the man behind Funky16Corners.

the thing is - covering Stevie is like covering the beatles (in most cases), or pink floyd or Sly & the family Stone or Jimi...if you're not going to really change it somehow, it's just a temporary substitute.
...or a pleasant replacement when you've burned out on the originals!

- i grew up (sort of!) with them too, from ~age 9-10 (the beatles came well before that) and i liked them; but very gradually i grew to really dislike Brian's falsetto (otherwise he's fine), and Mike Love's voice in general.
i don't hate them or anything!
