the thing is - covering Stevie is like covering the beatles (in most cases), or pink floyd or Sly & the family Stone or Jimi...if you're not going to really change it somehow, it's just a temporary substitute.

i know it's another of my unpopular opinions!
- i grew up (sort of!) with them too, from ~age 9-10 (the beatles came well before that) and i liked them; but very gradually i grew to really dislike Brian's falsetto (otherwise he's fine), and Mike Love's voice in general.

I only ever saw Stevie Wonder perform live once, and it was a surprise appearance in the middle of a George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars show at Bimbo’s in San Francisco. To say that the lid blew off the place is an understatement. A highlight of my LIFE.
