Had a lot of talk with a local friend of mine about the differences in ethos -- and the effects on the music and programming -- between KEXP and WFMU. But the space is undeniably impressive. We went up to the desk where a couple of people were working, and one asked if they could help. And I was all, "I don't know? Maybe we wanted to see the space, maybe take a tour?" They said they didn't do tours anymore, and I said, "Oh, OK, that's fine then. We are just radio people and volunteer at WFMU in Jersey City." "Oh! Well, in that case, how about a tour?" Ha! The power of WFMU compels you!

She smiled and waved the past two times I'd seen her... Days of effort have so far proven fruitless. While explaining my plight to another friend along my nth return to aforementioned closed store (just yesterday), and leading up to "she'll probably reject my still incomplete offer have lunch or something" she replied "rejection is a man's forte". Indeed. They installed big spooky camera things pointed at the entrance... the windows have all been boarded up, and the's only a phone number written on the plywood, along with NO DUMPING. So do I persist or not? I think I'll persist, but not sure I have it in me today. Once I find her, I'm guessing the rejection will happen quickly (thankfully). :-B always the fool/dreamer and Wild at Heart. Made for some hilariously awkward phone conversations so far where I put on my best "not a stalker" voice and stumble over communicating the necessary info laughing at self (again). Indeed. They installed big spooky camera things pointed at the entrance... the windows have all been boarded up, and the's only a phone number written on the plywood, along with NO DUMPING. So do I persist or not? I think I'll persist, but not sure I have it in me today. Once I find her, I'm guessing the rejection will happen quickly (thankfully). :-B always the fool/dreamer and Wild at Heart. Made for some hilariously awkward phone conversations so far where I put on my best "not a stalker" voice and stumble over communicating the necessary info laughing at self (again).
