It's OK. Japanophile. You think that an import would sell in Japan on release date. No way. ONLY Japanese versions of music will be released on the same date as USA.... AND that is usually not the case at all. Japan usually will release a record or CD two months before an import drops. AND the Japanese release will have Japan only songs on it. I know, I also founded Tower Records Asia's label. Back in those days, Tower Records was in Japan, but the Japanese labels would not give them their records (why? It's Japan, that's why！）I don't think Tower got Japan releases until 1986 or so (But that was before my time.)

Keith was the president of Tower Asia. He headhunted me to start the label.　I did. We didn't even have a name then. Keith thought of the name! (Cause I kind of didn't care about small details like that). But maybe Keith would like to say he founded the label. Maybe true. But I was the first to run it and set everything up. One time, Keith told me my previous label, "Samson Records" (I didn't name that one either!) was the best selling indies label in Japan.

Columbia released Never Mind the Bullokcs in 1977 in Japan (No one bought it. No one ever buys Columbia crap)
Virgin released it in 1986. Sold like crazy.
