Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

I appreciate the feedback. I want my show to have its own identity beyond just the fooling around stuff! This reminds me that I hope we can all develop a more extended dialogue on what we are doing and how to do it even better --- feedback, ideas, strategies for building bridges between shows and stream, DJ teams, radio stunts that raise awareness and highlight the fun and community. I'd love to see a forum for that among us.

Hope it wouldn't offend anyone to suggest that DU and BPN noise make more sense on the R&SS. I'd love to see more effort to "brand" the three non-broadcast streams more clearly and allocate shows in a way to is in keeping with a clearer identity for each stream. Sorry if that steps on any toes or seems to betray the freeform idea. I just think listeners would love to have a clearer idea of what the identity of each stream is --- what it is trying to achieve as an aesthetic statement or "take" on freeform radio.

I prefer doing my show live and Doug really emphasizes that here. I like to bounce around between the streams. I like drummer shows like Global Grease, Dark Night Of The Soul and the new one "Wreck Your Own Adventure". They are all very diverse and you never are quite sure what they will play next. Drummer tends to be VERY free form, I think.

My favorite R&S shows tend to be shows that play things I am not familiar with. Terre T plays a lot of newer stuff along with a lot of 80's and 90's I missed the first time around, as one example.
