Though it bears the same title, the Vincent Price movie is not based on the Gogol novella. It is instead based on Guy de Maupassant's "The Horla".

DJ Julie (Dark Night of the Soul) was awesome and brought me to a low fi performance of Little Shop of Horrors with Ellen Greene and Jake Gyllenhall. And fuck, she’s still got it!

I was torn between playing the original off-broadway version or the film version, but the orchestration is better in the film, and I appreciate the transformation from talking to singing in the film. It makes the belting notes more dramatic and impressive, I think?
