That train derailment in E. Palestine is, I think, a much bigger deal than the coverage would indicate (at least here in the tri-state). There has since been another, non-toxic derailment (in Michigan, I think?).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am

You can hear a similar breath-heavy sound in the playing of Anthony Braxton. Braxton was an appreciator of the sound of Warne Marsh, who, along with so many tenor players, worshipped at the altar of Lester Young.

Personally, I am worried that the toxic trail derailment game is a new tactic in the same push to maximize entropy by the domestic terrorists currently shooting up power stations.

But that's just me.

I don't disagree, Jeff Golick, but it's good to hear that some of the smaller rail unions are now successfully negotiating sick day benefits. It looks like that movement is picking up steam again.

Earth Girls Are Easy (1988) was a fun flick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am
Doug Schulkind:

Earth Girls Are Easy, plot:

"Three furry aliens—Mac, Zeebo, and Wiploc—from the planet Jhazalla are traveling in a spaceship. It has been a long time since they have had female companionship, and they receive a broadcast showing human females. They are titillated by these "hairless", shapely creatures, and when they discover that the broadcast came from Earth, they set off and land in Southern California."

Rising domestic 'terrorism' wouldn't surprise me. Last year, Ontario narrowly avoided passing of legislation spearheaded by our nasty-ass right-wing premier that moved to make striking, as a collective bargaining tactic, completely illegal, and punishable by incarceration. Which leaves working people with very few other options, but to respond with 'direct action'. Concentrated wealth and grim condescension are driving some real desperation. Blowing up railways, I can imagine that.

I had a painting teacher in college who loved Lester Young. He was a good mimic.(He would mimic me!)But he really liked to mimic Lester Young on the air sax. We had a record player in the painting studio and Lester Young ruled the turn table. Years later, he had a career in NYC. He would walk around his studio in Soho still honking away. Lester does that to people.

That's interesting re some kind of sabotage (if that's what you mean?), but that train had encountered all kinds of trouble even before the derailment.

I mean, those looking to shoot up power stations are also a problem, but RR cos. abusing the system heedlessly feels like the simplest explanation.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity (or, I suppose, greed), and all that.
