After making fun of them for years, I heard the first 6 KISS albums (via library), all except R&R Over. They're pretty bad, maybe 2-3 good songs on each one (most of "Destroyer" is pretty good if you don't take it too seriously---I mean, there's actually a song about how their audience is waiting for the band to play). Gene is mostly about self-promotion & marketing, & is either the [last president whose name I refuse to type] of rock, or just thinks that creating a public persona of an egomaniac capitalist is a good career move (although I've read plenty of stories about what a schmuck he is IRL).

That serial killer worked at the summer camp I went to, think he was the "film counselor" or something. The story is that some kids went into town, saw his photo on a Wanted poster at the post office, & turned him in. I actually don't remember him much, but it was a big story (this was several years before The Dating Game). It was a drama camp, later moved & re-branded as Stage Door Manor (it's still around).

Bobby Graham plays on the first few Kinks singles and most of the first LP (but not "Stop Your Sobbing").
