It has been so long since I've heard the original version of this song. I usually listen to the Negativland / Chumbawamba re-mix they put out of this tune, which is quite enjoyable.

It was incredible that Chumbawamba had a hit. I loved their earlier album "Slap!" but damn were they underground. Originally associated with The Crass, I believe? As unlikely a candidate for a hit as any band.

There's a place in Portland that opened up, called The Tube, which opened in the early 2000's, and I'm 99% sure this tape is where they got their name.

The inside of the bar was designed to look exactly like different bar NY, too, that was not named the Tube... which only added to the silliness.
